Hello!

Two days into July and I don't know what I feel. After my last ri-blog, I did some more notable stuff in June that I wanted to write about. June was very good to me, I think I got to know myself a little better.

I entered a poetry writing contest in May and was selected! ◝(ᵔᗜᵔ)◜ I actually got $300 and I used it for my trip to Montreal. The contest stated that if you got selected your poem would be shown on the city buses, which I thought was so cute. With the help of customer service, I tried to track it down but to no avail. My last few weeks of June were spent crying at terminals out of exhaustion lol. Nonetheless, a very kind bus driver took a photo of my poem and the city forwarded that to me and I was so happy. The thing about my poem is that I really liked it when I wrote it but when I saw the photo of it, I was like, "That's it...?" I don't understand why I was so self critical in the moment, I am proud of myself. I wanted to do something and I achieved it!

The end of June also consisted of me getting a hair cut. I know! I literally got a protein treatment done the week before I got the cut but I just wanted something different. I regret it. My hairstylist, who I have been seeing for like 5 years, gave me a shaggy mullet kind of situation and I always get this haircut but this time around it just doesn't look like the way it's supposed to (ㅠ﹏ㅠ) My therapist said it looks fine and it takes a lot to get used to change. Which...true! I have been trying to style it and to take care of it but somedays I struggle a lot. I am still trying to be comfortable in my body so having a not-so-super haircut kind of put me in a vulnerable spot. I hope that July helps me make amends with my hair!

To end the month, I asked my band member, Sidney, if he wanted to have a band session and to buy an amp with me. Our band hasn't really practiced in a while so I was looking forward to it. I swept my hair to side and I was basking in the glory of my derp-early y2k-emo-bassist fantasy lol (//_^), I kind of liked it! Sid said, I looked cool too. We sat on his porch and talked about the film program that we're in and how much we feel excluded at times. It was nice, we were outside for 4 hours just talking. We then made our way to the music store where we bought an amp for my bass! I got a Fender Rumbler for my Epiphone EB-3 bass 𝄞⨾𓍢ִ໋! We then practiced in his basement and it was so much fun. I think Sid would be a great music teacher. We have our next session in a week! I am excited to show the rest of the band what I have been able to do with my new amp.

I also hung out with Riley a lot! oh my god, I love her. I am so happy I have a friend like her. I felt like I got to know her a lot more this month. The reason why we hung out so much was because everyone else from our group went to Italy and me and Riley wanted to make her film but I don't know what happened there 0_o. We were walking down the street when she asked if I wanted Korean BBQ, I was like, "I don't know, I haven't tried it." and She STOPPED in her tracks, she was like so stunned lol. We ended up going other favourite K-BBQ spot and ohhh she was so right. It was amazing. I loved the food! The cheese corn, god, I could eat that by itself! it was just so good. We had to order extra cheese corn. We also spent the day getting vinyls for her new collection and walking her dog, Molly. Ugh, Molly is the cutest little baby! We got her a pup-cup from Starbucks and it was just so adorable! We ended the evening by going to the movies, and we watched The Phoenician Scheme in the VIP theatre! It was so cool, Riley insisted on getting more treats for us by using her points. We looked crazy to people around us, we got milkshakes, brownies, nachos and a fishbowl. My stomach was sooo full by the end of the day. It was a good day, I always feel like I can talk to Riley about whatever without being judged, she understands, she's funny and most of all she's very giving. I bought her a VHS collectors copy of The Matrix since it's her favourite film and I can't wait to give it to her!

Speaking of friends, Nia, Renee, Miriam and Afarin are back from Italy. Nia is my best friend and I was so shocked when she told me about all the arguments and clashes that happened on their trip. I was kind of grateful that I stayed behind. Like it was a lot, we have a lot to catch up on, the police was called you guys! ヽ(°〇°)ﾉ It kind of puts me in a difficult spot because now I think I might have to pick and choose who to be friends with and ugh, I really don't wanna do that. For the first time in my life I have been in a friend group that was cool and respectful (...kind of lol) and I don't really like confrontation either.

July will be a little difficult since I have ri-evaluate (ba dum tss) who I align myself with and maybe even choose if I want to continue film school. It will be uncomfortable but I was listening to Hindz once again and he said “What is for me will be, meaning whatever is for you will be, ain't nobody. Nobody can curse who Jah blessed, you understand? What is for me will be.” And it really resonated with me and I'm taking that energy with me to the new month! What is meant for me will happen.

Let me sweep my bangs and be the coolest bassist there ever was lol.
