10 Reasons why Sam Winchester is my favourite fictional character...

So it’s kind of a difficult question being asked exactly what you like about Sam Winchester. It’s just a fact, a constant like ‘the sky is blue’. I love Sam Winchester. So I had to think hard about this, but I’ve managed to narrow down my reasons for being a Sam girl.

1. Sam is super smart. Intelligence is something I value highly in others and Sam’s is undeniable. He got a 174 on his LSATs! He won a poker wizard or whatever at his own game even when no one believed he would pull it off. And he made a tazer using random items from an abandoned store. Like, what?!

2. Sam is super badass. He exorcised demons with his mind and overcame Lucifer with sheer willpower. He almost closed the gates of hell, and I know that this is a twisted thing to say, but I really loved soulless Sam because I think people sometimes forget that Sam is an extremely good hunter. He is Sam Fucking Winchester - and not a Losechester at that.

3. Sam is such a nerd, but in the hottest way possible. His hero is Ghandi, he has a serial killer thing and he knows super cool random facts, like that thing with the coin in ‘Baby’. Plus he loves showing off his knowledge to Dean, which is super cute.

4. Sam has been through the unimaginable , but he still laughs and makes jokes and loves. He has literally been to hell and back. He has had to act on a tv show. He has been sent to a mental institute and been broken by the trials to close the gates of hell, but he still doesn’t want to give up his serial killer room.

5. He has given up so much for Dean, but he takes responsibility for his own choices. He never plays the blame game. Hell, Dean almost killed him at the end of Season 10, but no hard feelings. Sam Winchester is the paragon of forgiveness.

6. He gets wifi everywhere!

7. He is really cute when he’s high/drunk. When all the weight of the supernatural world is taken off, he reveals his fundamental dorkiness and sweetness. “Boop” and “You’re short” come to mind.

8. He truly cares about helping others. He sacrificed himself to prevent the apocalypse. He tried to close the gates of hell despite knowing it would cost him.He really tries to uphold his no-killing policy. He is so selfless and pure. He stayed behind in a hospital in a town filled with people infected by the darkness in order to help those people. And he managed to cure everyone with just the mumblings of a reaper as clue (refer to reason 1).

9. He loves animals. Sam kept a Golden Retriever as a friend when he was younger and took in a dog he had accidentally run over. It just shows how his heart is in proportion to the rest of him.

10. He is played by Jared Padalecki. Jared Padalecki - who was part of an animal-related charity, confessed his own problems with depression and puts a lot of his time into the Always Keep Fighting campaign, which has helped so many people. He hands out hugs in abundance, corrects people’s grammar and actually knows what he’s talking about, doesn’t know how a chair works and laughs as much as he induces laughter. He is a gorgeous person, inside and out.
