HOW VERY KIND OF HER , EXACTLY LIKE SHE’D ALWAYS BEEN ; perhaps in the past the auburn haired one had been a little cruel to their friend. before everything. before they’d gotten stranded in the wilderness , & cursed by whatever abomination lived there. before they’d grown far closer to the young blonde , in comparison to the rest of their so called friends. before the deep forests had forced them to devour the forbidden , & commit such heinous acts that no one would believe them. or , perchance , they’d simply lock them all away. hidden from the light of day so that their crimes would remain buried under the ground – much like the bones they’d hidden long ago , deep within the haunted forests , or deep within the murky waters ; taunting them with quiet whispers in the darkness , or a cold hand upon shoulder. constantly there to remind them of what they’d been capable of , & how little human life truly meant in those moments.
smile brightens stoic features , fingers carefully taking the props set out for them. the blanket is tossed around broad shoulders , wrapping around them to keep the warmth within. it hadn’t been their intention to remain so long , but it seemed the weather had different plans. hand reached out once more , taking the warm hot chocolate into gentle hold. ❛ thanks. you know you didn’t have to do all . . . this. ❜ voice soft , wanting to reassure the woman that she’d done nothing wrong. the woman who was there beside them – delivering chaos to the mighty creatures lurking in the darkness. despite dark memories , there were some good ones hidden there. ❛ you’ve always been so sweet. i gotta ask – how’s everything been ? ❜ how much had followed them.
