미국, 미얀마 통신사 Mytel 제재 조치 발표

[애드쇼파르] 2025년 1월 6일 미국 상무부는 미얀마 군부-베트남 군부 합작 통신사 Mytel에 대한 제재 조치를 발표하였다. 미국 정부가 공개한 문서에 따르면 Mytel이 미얀마 국가관리위원회 감시 모니터링, 재정 지원을 제공하고 인권 침해와 연루가 되어 있어 제재 조치를 취한다고 설명하였다. 미얀마 인권 단체 Burma Campaign UK는 이번 제재 조치에 대해 환영을 하면서 영국과 EU 등의 다른 국가에서도 Mytel에 대한 제재 조치를 촉구하였다. 미얀마 인권단체 Justice for Myanmar는 2022년 미얀마 국방부는 군인들의 신상 정보를 제공하고 Mytel에서 0969로 시작하는 무료 심카드를 배포하였는데, 이 심카드로 모든 군인들의 전화 통화를 모니터링 하고 탈영병이…

미얀마 이동통신사 마이텔 전쟁범죄 공범을 명분으로 제재 촉구

  [애드쇼파르] 미얀마 인권단체 <Justice for Myanmar>는 미얀마 이동통신사 Mytel은 국가관리위원회가 자행하는 전쟁 범죄의 공범이기 때문에 기업 제재를 촉구하였다. <Telecom International Myanmar Company Limited>산하 회사인 Mytel은 국방부의 주요 수입원 중의 하나로 현재 Mytel이 국방부 군인들의 전쟁범죄에 가담했다는 많은 증거가 있다고 설명을 하며 국민들의 삶까지 위협하고 있다고 한다. 이에 Mytel을 비롯한 국방부 관련 기업들의 보이콧을 촉구하며 국제 사회에서는 미얀마 국민의 목소리에 귀를 기울이고 <Telecom International Myanmar Company Limited> 제재를 촉구하였다.
