I was thinking about sirens (the myth kind) recently, and I have some ideas about them:
So I'm pretty sure some people know by now that sirens sing about your desires, not just sex
But, what if there were types of sirens
Like the ones who sing about sex are just the most common. Ones who sing about money/power/fame would second most common. Ones who sing about be cared for/caring in general would be third common and so on
Give me some ideas about what sirens might sing about
And you could tell the difference by looking at their scales. For example, the sex sirens have pink-tinted scales, the money sirens might have gold, silver, or bronze scales, the caring ones might have a pale, pale pink (maybe blue) scales
Or you can hear their voices. The sex sirens sound seductive, money sirens might sound a bit deeper, caring sirens sound motherly, stuff like that
I also like the idea of mermaids and sirens species being related but I raise you
Sirens and Lamias being related too
Now, if you don't know what a lamia is, it's a half woman (upper half) and half snake (lower half).
Now, basically the only reason I ask these two species are related are because 1. Both seduce their victims (usually) and 2. Their both half woman half scale-y creature
