As midnight begins to close in over the rain-soaked streets and paint the cobblestones a dull silver, a lone, huddled silhouette shuffles into your askbox."What'll it be?" you ask warily, fingers thrumming against your Phineas and Ferb DVD collection. You have a bad feeling about this, and your instincts rarely lead you astray. Sure enough, the figure takes seat in the chair across from your desk and says, "I heard about you from that reblog in the paper -- your thoughts about Dick Grayson?"
(THERE ARE NO PHINEAS AND FERB DVDS, SIIIIIIGH.)
My Dick Grayson feelings are not very focused because I've only scraped together knowledge from various animated shows/movies, and I haven't had a chance to read his comic arc yet. But Teen Titans Dick Grayson is not exactly intended to be THE Dick Grayson (alternate animated universes 'n' such), so I'll just talk about YJ!Dick. WHO IS AWESOME. It breaks my heart that he has had to shoulder so much responsibility during the five-year interim, and that he is basically tasked with HOLDING EARTH TOGETHER even after he expressed a reluctance to make those tough decisions. He's doing the best he can, but it's so obvious that he's become hardened and even callous at times, which is everything he never wanted to be. It's so sad, really, and from what I know of the comics, Dick has always had a similar arc, where he breaks away from Bruce's influence for a while but inevitably has to assume the role of Batman anyway. SAD SAD SAD. But he's such an actual dork who uses humor to deflect ... pretty much everything, and he's just ... ah. HE'S HOT.
