Hmmm I might try that out because I was trying to start out with alike a super detailed line sketch but that seems a lot more reasonable
what I like to do best is put base colors under the sketch and then start putting basic shadows and highlights on layers over it. that seems to work for me. I'm really impatient though, I tend to give up really fast or want to start something over because I'll look at a tutorial and like their steps.
