sebastian often says he’s just a “humble” butler and despite how funny it is that he (superpowered evil bitch creature) would say that, i really love that it’s actually true in one specific way i find very endearing: he doesn’t assume he knows everything and he’s not afraid to be wrong.
it would be so easy for a demon like him to think ‘humans are flawed and dumb and i’ve lived thousands of years ergo i don’t need to listen to what they say and i’m perfect’ and a more flatly written version of him probably would. but he doesn’t. he takes the feedback people give him (if he respects them) and internalizes it to be better at what he does. despite being alive for presumably millennia, he recognizes that there are highly valuable things to learn from humans with more experience in areas where he’s lacking. and he does this with like.. no outward-presenting ego. just pure curiosity and a drive to perfect his craft. in some cases his love of the game is genuinely stronger than his pride- or rather the game is his pride. #mydemonmisfit
