Every year Kisa tries to stay awake to greet the New Year. Most years there had been parties at the Sohma estate and most times she had still fallen asleep, slouched against the wall. This year they didn’t have to go to the Sohma estate.
And this she had a plan. She took a nap after dinner time. And she even drank some of the disgusting coffee that her mother made with dinner.
But this year turned out to be no exception. She fell asleep on the couch while she and her mother watched a movie. As the clock struck midnight her mother covered her with a blanket and watched the news, allowing Kisa to sleep.
