This was the home of the Catalan artist Carme Rovira (1907-1985). It's located in her hometown Vilassar de Mar (Barcelona Metropolitan Area, Catalonia) and nowadays it's a museum.
Carme Rovira came from a working class family. She left school at age 14 to go work in a factory. When she was 47, she suffered an accident and, as consequence of it, she couldn't leave her house. That's when she picked up a painting brush for the first time. Two years later, she exhibited her work in public for the first time. After she recovered from the accident and went back to work, for the rest of her life she worked in retail of a hotel, as maid, cleaning offices... and continued painting in her free time.
In her will, she left her home to the Vilassar de Mar Town Council with the instructions of turning it into a museum. Now, visitors can appreciate her naïf art and how she turned the house into a cheerful and colourful place.
