… and today we’ll be interviewing the people behind Na-Nossa—Jo, Nama, and Rena—on the occasion of their blog’s one-year anniversary! 🎉🎂🎈
Wow, so today marks exactly one year since you started this blog?!
Na-nossa: Yes!!!
What’s been your favorite thing about the blog so far?
Na-nossa: The viewing parties have definitely been a highlight! Just hanging out together, we always end up laughing so much, and it’s fun watching the episodes and picking out which screencaps to grab. We’ve even got our own little chore division system, haha. Taking part in the KHR rarepair events has been great too: Nama and Rena writing fics, Jo making moodboards… and, of course, sharing all that with the wider world (on Tumblr) has been the cherry on top :)
Top fav KHR characters/ships?
Jo: Top 5 characters, in no specific order: Xanxus, Mukuro, Squalo, Yamamoto, Gokudera. Top ship: Yamamoto × Gokudera :3
Nama: KHR has such a lovable cast, it’s hard to pick… but as everyone knows, I’ve got a big soft spot for Mukuro, Yamamoto, Squalo, and Xanxus! As for ships, the whole rewatch plan literally started because I wanted to write a Yama x Squ fic x)
Rena: My top 3 characters, in order: Yamamoto, Tsuna, Hibari. I’m a multishipper, but my OTP is 8018.
What has stuck more with you so far on the rewatch?
Na-nossa: We’ve all come to KHR at different times: Jo first watched it around 2013–2014, while Rena and Nama started earlier, around 2009–2010. Even with all its flaws, the show has stood the test of time for us, and still delivers the same thrills as that very first watch. In fact, while some series lose their spark years later because you’ve changed so much as a person, we believe KHR will probably be enjoyable in another 20 years... We love the show’s many iconic openings and endings, the incredible voice actors, and we’ve found it fascinating how some scenes had stayed crystal clear in our memories while others had vanished completely! Rewatching now with a more mature perspective adds new layers too, noticing subtle character dynamics we’d have missed before, and occasionally thinking, “Wait, is a 14-year-old really the best person for this job?” 😂
What do you imagine for the blog’s future?
Na-nossa: We’re picturing another year of slowly watching and screencapping KHR until we finally finish it 😅 Hopefully with a sprinkle of the other anime we’re been watching, too. Nama would love to bring back Meta Fridays, since she’s got a couple of ideas lined up! So, yeah, here’s to more Reborn! and sharing our fun times with the wider world (on Tumblr)… and, of course, Jo and Rena are demanding more yaoi from Nama. Itadakimasu.
