A Cornish Christmas
We love Cornwall whatever time of year it is, but Christmas in Cornwall is extra special. With Christmas food festivals, markets, sing-a-longs, festive gigs, Christmas lights and of course Santa and his reindeer, there is lots to see and do over the festive season.
So get out and about to some of our favourite places and say “Nadelik Lowen Ha Bledhen Nowytha Da” and wish people a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year in Cornish!
Christmas at Eden is an absolute blast and we LOVE IT!
There is so much happening it is certainly more than a fun filled day out for you and the kids. Explore the Enchanted Rainforest before meeting Santa and his reindeer and hitting the ice at the much loved ice rink.
They’ll be storytelling, Christmas craft workshops and carol singers throughout December. Along with a scrumptious festive menu, perfect to warm the cockles on a chilly winters day!
There is nothing better than a good old fashioned Christmas Pantomime and this year Truro’s Hall for Cornwall brings you the fabulous Dick Whittington and his Mousehole Cat
This tale of a young man who sets off to Cornwall to follow his dreams with nothing but his faithful cat is set to be a great adventure filled with hilarious audience interaction and surprises! Starring Harry Potter actor Granville Saxton and Cornwall’s much loved Kernow King you can certainly expect to laugh your socks off with this action packed event the whole family will enjoy.
The pantomime runs until the 3rd January 2016 with tickets available from £14.00
One thing not to miss this December is the Mousehole Christmas Lights
The official switch on is the 12th of December at 7pm and is certainly an event not to be missed. With the spectacular scene of lights floating in the harbour, accompanied by carol singing the walls are adorned and the village is jam-packed with bright and colourful lights. The smell of mulled wine and festive food fills the air as a local band performs.
To catch this exquisite display of community and festive fun you will need to be prepared to be patient. Mousehole is a typically small and idyllic harbour village with smaller roads and restricted parking, so getting to and from the harbour can take some time.
The Cathedral City of Truro is just a short drive from both our Carnebo Barns, near Newquay and Tresooth Barns, near Falmouth comes alive every Wednesday evening for its annual Christmas late night shopping and this year the city will be filled with festive street entertainment on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
Explore the delights of the Christmas street markets with fantastic food and Christmas goodies.
And this year for the first time EVER Truro can guarantee it’s going to snow! On the 23rd December, Boscawen Street will be transformed into an amazing Winter Wonderland, with falling snow, a special dedicated snowball throwing area, visits from Disney’s Frozen characters, Christmas carols, brass bands and so much more!
