Nagarahole Tiger Reserve previously known as Rajiv Gandhi (Nagarahole) National Park, was named after the river ‘Nagarahole’ which literally means ‘Serpent River’ (Nagara=Serpent; Hole=River) in the Kannada language. Nagarahole is an important Tiger Reserve in Karnataka and is a major hub of conservation under Project Tiger and Project Elephant. The protected area supports large gathering of carnivores and herbivores: tiger, leopard, Asiatic wild dog and sloth bear, Asiatic elephant, gaur, sambar, chital, muntjac, Four-horned antelope, wild pig, mouse deer, and South-western langur.
The park comprises of some amazing landscapes and marvelous streams that deviate around like a snake, leaving wildlife enthusiasts and visitors astonished by its natural beauty. It is also considered a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
The most important part of children growth is fitness and physical activies. The more the children engage themselves in physical activities it will help their fitness and mind stability. Nagarahole is derived its name from Naga, means snake and Hole refers to as streams. The park is also known as Rajiv Gandhi National Park located in Kodagu and Mysore District. Kannada is the local language around the National park
Nagarahole Park is declared as thirty seventh Tiger Reserve in India. It is also considered as World Heritage site by UNESCO. Three of the park namely Bandipur, Mudumalai & Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary are adjacent to the Nagarahole
Bengal Tiger, Indian Leopard, Sloth Bear, Striped Hyena are the predators that can be spotted in the park.
Herbivores like Elephants, Chital, Sambar Deer, and Barking Deer is also spotted around the national park.

Two poachers were thwarted from hunting animals and nabbed by the forest guards in the early hours of Thursday.
The two persons possessing a gun, two torches, a machete and 5 live cartridges were intercepted in the Cauvery block reserve forest and buffer area of the Hunsur Wildlife Range of Nagarahole National Park around 12.15 a.m.
