one of 4 siblings, born six minutes before her twin sister gia. they had a nice, comfortable childhood with lots of love and connection to each other, hallie was always closest to gia and she's still basically her best friend
hallie loved school, she got into writing and investigating things from listening to true crime stories, watching interviews, and paranormal podcasts.
from a young age they started writing about gossip, random secrets heard around town, and eventually for the school newspaper. they became known, especially at home for being very nosey
after high school, they got into one of their top pick schools, TSU, on a partial scholarship. they stayed in the dorms for the first year and then they went to live with their sister gia who was in town pursuing music
since graduating college, hallie got a job at the local media office and was tasked with writing about musicians and the music scene in nashville - she still looks into stories and tips in her free time and has a blog that goes over recent conspiracies, happenings, and anything else she finds interesting enough to write about.

grew up in nebraska with his sister, mother, and his father until he was thirteen and they divorced. he sided with his mother because his father was unfaithful, but also because they never did see eye to eye
he always had a good ear for music, while his sister (and one of his best friends) had the talent with her voice, lyrics, and guitar - he had with mixing sounds together, putting music to words, and finding lyrics to fill in the blanks or flow together. he would write songs, mix beats, and taught himself more and more until he was producing solid stuff.
after he graduated he stuck around to work and save money, further developing his skills. when ryan was finally discovered he followed her to nashville and that's where both of their careers took off.
he met salem in nashville, they quickly became his person and they eventually moved in together. they are definitely an added light to his life and he truly loves her but marriage worries him especially after watching his mom and sister's marriages fall apart.
elijah works a lot, even brings it home with him to the studio he has there. after her divorce, ryan moved in with salem and eli - he doesn't mind, at least there he knows she's safe and he wins getting his two favorite people in his house.
he is often mistaken for being in a bad mood or apathetic but it couldn't be farther from the truth. sure there's plenty of melancholy in his life but there's plenty of happiness and silly moments too.
currently he is an indpenedent producer, hired by artists and record labels to come mix albums with those who need a special touch. if he has time he offers services to up and coming artist he thinks have a lot of potential
he also has a side band that meets very inconsistently that mostly does silly/nerdy songs and covers that they post on youtube for fun

born and raised in detroit, michigan to a single mother and an absentee father. they lived in a rough neighborhood. his father only occasionally was in sid's life, he had another family with three children who were his main focus. his mother more than made up for it though
from a very young age he was performing and as he aged it was the only thing he ever wanted to do so he practiced at it every chance he got whether that was singing, playing instruments, putting on shows, writing lyrics, etc.
he never fit in much, he painted his nails black, wore eyeliner, clothes never fit right because they were thrifted or hand me downs, he struggled to follow lessons, and he was always getting into some kind of trouble. he stayed isolated from the crowd. between that and his father, it led to added anger and resentment that he still carries a lot of to this day
his mom passed away from a terminal illness when he was sixteen, it was devastating for him. he took off to memphis to live with his cousin then later moved to nashville to pursue his music career
formed the Crimson Crypt and immediately started making music, playing gigs, and grinding their way through the underground - eventually they started collecting a following and got signed though they remained having mixed reviews
with little to no social skills and thrust into an environment with no experience was rough for sid. he was on tour constantly, opening for bigger names, playing festivals, and small gigs throughout the country met with a mixture of love and hate
sid became a garbage disposal for substances to deal with the anxiety, intrusive thoughts, and the undealt with grief of losing his mother mixed with the anger he'd harbored from a young age. he developed an addiction which got worse over time.
he started fighting concert goers that would hate on the band, withdrawal only made him worse, getting into fights with people in the crowd or at bars that dared to show any kind of dislike for him or the band or even looking at him wrong
juliet came into his life somewhere between it going from bad to worse and between her and the band he realized his problem. when he tried to stop the managers and label encouraged his drug use to get through shows. eventually he ended up in the hospital after a public overdose.
they left the label, sid went to rehab, got married, and started a new label with other fed up rock bands.
since then things have gotten better, he's still a work in progress with a couple relapses but he has 3 years of consecutive sobriety under his belt and he's trying to work on his other issues but it's been slow
the band is doing much better, having a few very successful albums - he lives in a penthouse downtown with his two black cats who are like children named onyx and poe and his wife juliet.
he smokes like a chimney, generally looks angry or apathetic, still barks at people when he gets overstimulated but doesn't fight as much. he still has the goth/punk aesthetic and is hard to miss between how he dresses and his height.

full name: Brooks Feldman
gender & pronouns: male. he/him.
age & date of birth: 29, January 3rd, 1994
where do they live: downtown
time living in nashville: 6 months
occupation: singer & songwriter (voice claim: Noah Kahan)
positive traits: sincere, patient, wise
negative traits: stubborn, reserved, cynical
Born in Hyannis, Massachusetts, Brooks Feldman is a prime example of the saying “it takes a village to raise a child”. Born in an attempt to save his parents' marriage (it didn’t work), his father relied on his neighbors to help raise him and his older brother while he was at work. It was while he was being babysat by his neighbor who taught piano lessons from her living room where he was introduced to music. It quickly became his thing, the way that football was his older brothers. He started with piano but quickly took to guitar when he got one as a gift for his thirteenth birthday.
He started songwriting when he was a teenager. It was the easiest way for him to deal with the feelings he had about not fitting into this small town he was brought up in. He spent all his time feeling guilty thinking he broke his parents up and trying to keep everyone around him happy. Brooks didn’t share any of his music right away - opting to perform at talent shows with covers of popular songs. It was safer than baring his soul out to the same group of people who have seen him in diapers.
After high school, Brooks didn’t follow his brother’s footsteps to college, instead he took the train out to New York City or Boston to try and sell songs he wrote to artists more developed in the industry than he was. He felt at home on stage, but he also knew that he had to start somewhere. It took months and a few Youtube performances for a producer to find him, but once that happened it was nonstop. Except his people pleasing nature reared it’s ugly head again, not saying anything when the music execs drastically changed his music to something it never was supposed to be.
Years later and after a move to LA, on the night of his 21st birthday, Brooks was lamenting about his disillusionment with the industry and his brother helped him realize the real problem. It wasn’t his music anymore. So to make it his own, he packed his bags, moved back to Hyannis and ignored the voices of the music execs that told him that his type of music wouldn’t sell.
That ended up being a lie. After a backyard performance of one of his new songs went viral on Tiktok, Brooks found himself on a sold out tour and swimming in offers to be represented as a performer, not just a songwriter. Which is how he found himself packing up again and moving to Nashville.

「 the introduction 」
Marti is the youngest child of 4 with three older brothers. She works for her family's company as a music producer.
To say her family's status has impacted her life in a positive way is an understatement. She attended a fancy private Catholic school growing up, drove nice cars, and general lived a pretty comfortable lifestyle due to her family's money.
Her mom was a backup singer in her day and Marti's dad was a musician in a semi-famous band (managed by Applause, obviously, and then transitioned into the role of COO once he settled down and started raising a family.
Marti's brothers all ended up doing something musical, whether it was playing in a band or starting a singing career. She's the only one who isn't actively performing, but she still fell in love with the industry. Going to watch her older brothers record in the studio was always her favorite, and that's where she got her start.
Marti applied for and attended the Academy of Contemporary Music in London to study music production. She probably could've gone without college with the family connections and having grown up around the industry, but she wanted to really be the best of the best.
Three years after leaving for London, Marti returned home openly bisexual, engaged to a British man, and ready to set fire to the industry she'd grown to miss in her time overseas. Unfortunately, things aren't always what they seem. Marti caught her fiancé in bed with someone else not once but two different times, and she quickly learned he had only proposed in hopes of her helping him land a deal with Applause.
To recover from the humiliation of giving two and a half years of her life to a man not even worth another moment, Marti threw herself into her work, establishing a reputation in the industry for pushing the envelope whenever possible. If you've got the safety net of your family's legacy to catch you, why would you be afraid to take your shot?
「 deeper dive 」
This girl is a smidge terrified of turning thirty because that feels like an adult age and she considers herself very much Not An Adult.
Marti tends to fight to work on projects she thinks are going to be game-changers. She usually opts for female artists, songs or projects that will allow her to flex her creative muscle, or anything that's going to cause a scene or challenge the industry.
Marti's using her mother's surname both personally and professionally mostly because she really loves supporting Latinas and also because she wants to make sure nobody can say she just got her job because she's a Cabrera.
She's definitely a "Stick it to the Man!" kind of gal, and she has no problems pointing out flaws in a male-dominated industry that rarely takes women like her seriously.
You'll often find her dancing in a studio during playback and generally always having a good time! She loves to make the process fun and exciting.
People at Applause whisper that she's only got the job because of her father, but really, she's a balance of hardworking and talented on top of the nepo baby status.
Do. Not. Bring. Up. Her. Ex. She trashes him at every possible opportunity, including loudly talking trash over his songs when they play at a bar. Things did not end well, obviously, and she's a firm believer that the man is the spawn of Satan.
Marti is determined to never find herself in a serious relationship again, and she isn't one to really do dates but she loves a good hook up. Notorious for asking people not to catch feelings because she will ghost them if they do.

QUICK FACTS.
Felix has been sober for 9 months. He's able to be around alcohol in social settings, but is usually more comfortable in bars if he has a trusted friend with him.
He dropped out of high school but his goal is to get his GED, maybe go to community college.
In his teens and early twenties, Felix was involved in petty crime. He wasn't violent, but he'd break into places to steal money for drugs.
He's not particularly close with his family and feels rejected by them. They made sure he had a roof over his head and clothes on his back, but he never really felt loved by them.
CONNECTION IDEAS.
High school classmates (would have gone to school in Nashville).
Someone Felix's addiction has hurt in the past. Maybe someone he stole from, lied to, etc.
Some people might say that the circumstances of Felix’s birth set him up for his life. His first look at the world was through a lens of the cocaine and amphetamines that induced his mother’s early labor. She picked a hell of a time to fall off the wagon. The doctors in the room were just relieved when Felix’s screaming, underdeveloped lungs filled the room with sound. The birth was rushed, messy, dangerous. His mother didn’t survive and Felix spent his first few weeks in the NICU.
His father remarried when Felix was still young, had a bunch more children. Felix was raised by his father and step-mother, and while they did the best they could, they lived mostly on welfare and food stamps. Felix’s father treated him like a reminder of a reckless woman whose addiction had cost her life, and almost Felix’s, too. He was a reminder of failure and thousands upon thousands of dollars in hospital bills. He started acting out from a young age, staying out too late, sneaking beer and cigarettes from his parents’ house, money from their wallets. Petty theft and vandalism, casual marijuana use and drinking beer way too young eventually degenerated into addiction.
There were times when Felix couldn’t remember waking up sober or going to sleep without downers. He couldn’t hold down a job or an education, and his trouble with the law started to become more serious when he didn’t have the excuse of being a minor any more. Felix just about managed to stay out of jail. His lawyer argued that his offences were non-violent and a result of his addiction; an illness. He was ordered to a rehab facility that felt worse than prison for a while, but it helped, even if it was hell. When he was released, his step-mom helped set him up with a job at his uncle’s construction company where he began to learn a trade.
Now, Felix is trying to put his life back together and mend the mistakes of his past, all while attempting to find outlets that don’t consist of substance use.

「 the introduction 」
[tw: parental death, car accident] Ryland’s parents were killed in a car accident when he was three and he was raised (along with his older brother, Cade) by his grandparents on their small farm in Illinois.
Ryland always had a thing for music. Started guitar lessons at age 8, got his first guitar at age 10, and visited Nashville for the first time at 16.
[tw: mentions of drug use/addiction] Ryland's older brother is a real dick to him and their grandparents, and he's a hardcore addict. Ryland hasn't seen him sober since Cade was 16 and Ryland was 14.
Ryland moved to Nashville just three days after graduating high school. He worked as a bar back at The Tin Roof, eventually working as a bartender and playing on the stage sometimes.
After being in town for 4 years, he finally got noticed by a record label employee, but not for his singing. The guy broke the news that Ry was a pretty face with a decent voice in a sea of decent voices and pretty faces, but his songwriting really stood out, so he offered him a job as a songwriter.
Ryland signed with his first label (label tbd) in 2011 and decided to go freelance in 2014 when his contract ended. Now he writes with artists across all labels, but he is exclusively country in genre.
Ryland has gone on tour with some folks across the industry from time to time, and he's pretty good at guitar and keys. He's the kind of guy who has no trouble filling in for someone on short notice, but touring is hard on his mental state when he is gone for too long.
「 deeper dive 」
Ry is a hopeless romantic at heart, and he’s notorious for thinking each new girlfriend he finds is “the one.” Ryland is a sucker for love. It doesn’t help that most country songs are written about something so incredibly consuming, so absolutely fascinating to the boy. Maybe it’s the fact that his parents were so open with their love in photos and videos, who knows?
Despite the chaotic relationship shared with his older brother, Cade, and the many issues Cade struggles with, Ryland tends to see the potential for good in everyone he meets. He's one to ignore the red flags or lackluster signs, which is obviously always a great idea, right?
Ryland has over 150 songs that he’s written or co-written that have been recorded and released. There’s a dozen more in production now, or songs that haven’t been handed off to be recorded just yet. The boy has written for and with the likes of Kelsea Ballerini, Morgan Wallen, Luke Combs and more names that dominate the country music scene, but he’s never one to brag. In fact, he almost never brings up the people he's written for, and despite being friends with many of them, almost never admits that he wrote a song until he's asked point-blank.
Writing is his shit and he’s literally been known to forget to eat for 24+ hours when he gets in the zone. He does everything from tweaking tunes and lyrics to starting from scratch and writing entire songs, and you'll always find him with a notebook nearby, if not in his hand.
Because he spent the last 14 years in Nashville, Ryland’s Illinois accent isn’t as profound as people would expect. He also has a habit of picking up accents from people so he can make sure words actually rhyme when they sing it themselves, so people sometimes have a hard time pinning his accent to a certain region.
Totally important fact: Ryland has a massive crush on Sara Bareilles and probably has since “Love Song” blew up back during his senior year of high school. Please don’t get him started on it, it’s so embarrassing for the both of us.
