First NAIGC Meet of 2017 ✅
VT: 8.1 (SV 8.6) UB: 5.0 (SV 6.1 lol) BB: 8.8 (SV 9.7) FX: 8.2 (SV 8.9) I finally got credit for all my skills on beam and do my Arabian dismount for the first time in competition! Went 4 for 4. Stuck my VT and UB dismount, so I'm pretty happy with how things went 😊 Also @gympow you crushed it today 😘
The comeback trail is only beginning. #naigc (at James Madison University)
Where I am on beam at the moment, hopefully I can nail the series more often 😅nailed the new dismount though!
My first super all around competition from yesterday’s meet! 68.2 in the men’s all-around, 35.1 in the women’s all-around.
@amygym @ginamarie135 my floor routine for the upcoming season. Any thoughts? (I still have to work on the part before the last pass lol!)

Ode to NAIGC
Yesterday’s meet had me thinking about what makes competing in NAIGC so special, and I think the reason is there is absolutely no reason to do it other than pure love of doing gymnastics.
There are no college scholarships on the line. No one there expects to go to the Olympics or go elite. Most people there have ended their JO careers (if they ever had one). You aren’t spending a ton of money, and you generally aren’t practicing 20+ hours a week.
But everyone there has worked hard and knows exactly how hard everyone else has worked. And the reason everyone is there is because they love doing gymnastics, and suddenly you’re completely surrounded by other people who love it too, celebrating that joy. It doesn’t matter the level or the competition. Everyone is cheering for everyone. Some people are there to win, but it doesn’t stop anyone from screaming at the top of their lungs for everyone on every team. At the slightest sign of trouble in anyone’s routine, everyone’s shouting encouragement.
It is an awesome experience. I’m so proud of the teammates who won yesterday. I’m so proud of myself for the goals I hit. I’m so proud of the athletes on the other teams for the goals they met and the troubles they pushed through. I can’t wait to get back in the gym and start fixing the things I struggled on. And I can’t wait for the next meet so I can see how much all the other teams have improved too.
