thinkin about a kotet nairoim who’s trying to get back into ashara’s good graces when their dual-bladed saber gets sliced up. instead of repairing it back to normal, they seal off the undamaged side and add another saber that snaps together to form the dual-blade... or snaps apart so ashara can use one of the sabers if she loses hers

(she finds out they did this upon being tossed one mid-battle, of course)

later, ashara modifies her hilts so that they can be swapped interchangeably w nairoim’s. so, you know, they can always rely on each other, or whatever, it’s not a big deal shush

funny thing about lightsabers is in all these video games you have colour crystals n shit bc ppl want to pick their own colour saber right? but in canon there’s just The Crystal, and it's more of a "wand chooses the wizard" type dealio

so i've decided every colour change ingame means a lightsaber that's bit the dust or been lost off a fuckin cliff or in a droid factory or whatever. and for nairoim, that's like. one lightsaber change, nbd. same for jalaila

RIA however must be known around the temple as the lightsaber menace bc she's killed like 4 lightsabers and counting

simultaneously in love w the idea of nairoim becoming so corrupted and out of fuckin control darkside that ashara leaves them, their sister doesn’t want anything to do w them and is in fact prepared to take them down if necessary

and a nairoim who does all this....... then goes off into wildspace for a few years on some quest and comes back ready for an awkward zuko redemption arc
