NALA from LION KING // AGE RANGE: 22-27 // PRONOUNS: UTP
Everyone goes through changes in their lives, and there comes a point when they must decide whether the change will destroy them, or if it will make them stronger. For you, there was no question all over the matter - when you sank into an endless cycle of grief and despair, you chose to not give up the fight and instead rose like a phoenix from the ashes. It’s made you into a tougher person, unwilling to back down from what might be thrown your way - but in doing so, it’s also made you jaded. You want to feel that carefree liveliness that you once possessed, but you’ve become bitter. The world has taken all you hold dear from you with no remorse, so you have no choice but to do what you need, and do so unapologetically. You weren’t made to fit into a mold, you were made to break it.
Simba: They were your best friend as a child, someone that you clung to and laughed with and pictured being friends with for the rest of your lives. You complimented each other in a way that made sense, your common sense smart working efficiently beside their bravery. The two of you would talk about how you’d conquer the city and create something better, before you went on to take on the world. It seemed perfect - almost too much so. Because then they went missing, and you were left to fend for yourself. After what happened to Mufasa, you tried to hold onto hope that they’d come back to where they belonged - that you’d be able to help them work through it. But as weeks turned into years, your hope slowly died and you had to force yourself to not think about what happened to them. Instead, you’ve decided to carry on the legacy that you both planned out. Even if you’re doing it alone, you’re going to make this a better place.
Scar: You don’t trust them, plain and simple. As Simba’s family, you know that you should’ve been able to look at them for answers to what happened to your best friend. Just as anyone might expect, you believed that they must have been going through the same heartbreak that you were. And you kept your eyes open, waiting to see if there would ever be a moment in which you could approach the subject. But you’re smart, and you can see right through Scar. There were no tears shed over the death of Mufasa, no grief spared over the fact that Simba might’ve perished as well. They simply moved into a place that wasn’t meant for them, and decided it was where they belonged. You know that there’s more to their story than what they let on, and you aren’t going to give up that easily. With claws bared, you’ve dug into their inner circle and you aren’t planning on leaving any time soon.
The Creator has been waiting patiently, watching your story unfold. To Him, you’re a bit of a wild card, but that’s what makes you so interesting. As you’ve grown and tried to shed your naïveté and hopefulness, He knows that it’s not something you can throw away like a piece of garbage. The idealistic person you once were still lies within you, no matter how hard to might try to be unaffected. The Creator thinks that unveiling that once more will be one of His greatest works - all that needs to happen now is to discover what can bring you back to the brink. Tread lightly.
