Nalexa things
When Nalexa was a little girl, she was able to go on a trip to Kaas City. While it was a little difficult, given the whole anti-alien thing, she absolutely loved it and it cemented her desire to work for the Empire like her parents. However, while she was there, she saw a doll in one of the shops.
Her parents couldn’t afford it, and she schemed to steal it. Using a rather dumb sith acolyte as a distraction, she managed to take it. She couldn’t exactly tell her parents what she did, and to this day, she keeps that doll hidden away.
Little things with Kaleni. And Nalexa.
"Dad says that even though we ain’t "real" Zabraks, that I get t’do my tattoos. I wonder if it’s gonna hurt? Mom says she knows a good tattoo artist back home on Nar Shaddaa. I’m gonna look like a ‘real’ Zabrak soon!"
"I don’t want toy blasters to just be for little boys. I want my dolls to rule the galaxy with their blasters! Take it all over and be pretty rulers and be nice to aliens."
Tell me 3 things about Damry and 3 things about Nalexa that wouldn't come up in a regular conversation.
Damry:
She tries to be a vegetarian. Not because of a “SAVE DA ANIMALS” thing, but because of lingering health issues that make eating difficult to begin with, and meat even worse.
She totally had sex on a sith tomb once. (Come on, I had to add SOMETHING off-color!)
She cannot remember anything about her life before she came to the Sith Academy. So she never ever talks about that. Like, anytime it comes up in RP, pasts and stuff, she dismisses herself.
Nalexa:
She’s a lesbian. But it never comes up in conversation because she’s not pursuing anything of the sort right now. She’d prefer to concentrate on her career than personal stuff— personal stuff can wait, but she’s going to make sergeant eventually, dammit! And that’s more important.
She collects the in-universe equivalent of Barbies. They stay at her parents house on Dromund Kaas.
Long before she actually joined the military, she wanted to be a fashion designer. She wasn’t very good at it.
It wasn't often that Nalexa had any free time. Not with the extra classes she was taking, in order to continue to be a proficient member of the Imperial army, and more importantly, a particular special forces regiment, but this week-long hiatus was damn nice.
Hot men, hot women. Dancers. Everything that she liked to look at when she wasn't up to her ears in medical terminology. Nar Shaddaa was great for that. So as she leaned back in her chair, muscular arms behind her head to watch the show, she wasn't really expecting conversation. Everyone around here was surely concentrating more on the dancers, right?
But when she felt a tapping on one broad shoulder, and a whispered "psst" in her ear, she politely turned to look at the tall man-- even taller than her, and that was saying something. "What can I help you with?" The Zabrak had a clear Imperial accent, but a faint smile on her tattooed face.
"Drink?" came the reply, a wide grin on the man's face, showing off some crooked teeth.
Nalexa shook her head. "No thank you."
"Come on, loosen up...ooh! What's with you eye?"
The polite look faded into something much more sinister and Nalexa slowly stood up to her own height of 6'2", crossing her large arms in front of her chest. "I said no thank you."
A pout formed on the mans face and he tried one more time. "Come on, sweetcakes. Just a drink and I'll tell ya all abo--"
Normally, Nalexa was fairly calm. But she was trying to enjoy the dancers and without even thinking about it, her right hand swung around in a hook toward the man with the blue mohawk's nose, hitting it with a satisfying crunch.
"OI! The hell was that for!?"
Blood was spurting out of his nose and he quickly placed his hands over it. "I jus' wanted t'get ya a driiiink.."
"I said no thank you." Last time she was going to say it.
Snorting back some of the blood, the guy lowered one hand from his nose and extended it in an offered handshake. "Well fimd themb, m'Rax," he introduced. "Lemme know whemb ya wanna drink."
He just couldn't get the hint, could he? With a sigh, Nalexa yanked the offered hand and pulled him toward her, swiftly turning the guy around and grabbed him by the hip.
With a grunt, and before he could really react, she had him up in the air. There was a reason the Zabrak's callsign was Benchpress. "I. Said. No."
Two reps and she set Rax back down, breathing heavily. That was one damn heavy man, and she hadn't actually been sure she could pull it off. But by the look on her face, she knew it was worth it.
He was staring at her wide-eyed, with the goofiest grin ever. She rolled her eyes at him and turned around to head out of the club-- surely another would be calmer.
...It was a good thing he waited until she was out of earshot to speak.
"Daaaamn, girl."
COLORS
VI. Grey (Nalexa)
The world looks different now. Ever since she lost her right eye, there is something different about her vision. Not just the fact that she lacks peripheral vision on her right side, but something about the brightness, the tone, color of everything isn’t what she remembered. The doctors don’t know-- she hasn’t told them yet. They don’t need to know, this is just something she’ll deal with. The Regiment doesn’t need to know either, they have enough to worry about. After all, the world looks so much better in these odd shades of grey.
VII. Purple (Kaleni)
She likes to watch him. She watches the way his muscles move with every action, how skin pulls taut. Everything about him is enchanting. Granted, it doesn’t take a lot to enchant the Zabrak. She’s easily taken in by the most silly of things, delighted and captivated. This time though, she has reason. Kaleni’s been around many men-- aliens, humans and near-humans of all sorts, but this man is something a little different. A little more exotic. She’s never been with someone that shade of violet and though they won’t be intimate, this is fascinating.
AHHH.
So many things to write, my head is overflowing with different ideas. Thankfully I have about nine hours left of my shift tonight, so I should have about eight hours of writing time. So I apologize in advance if I overload tumblr tonight-- though I'll try to keep things in google docs and post over the next few days. Maybe. I'm also leaving on vacation early Saturday morning, and I know at least two of the vacation days will be laptop free at the beach. So... yeah. I'll really try to just post two, maybe three things tonight.
3. Personality: Let’s get into your character’s head for a bit and see what makes them tick. What’s their personality? Do they put on a front? What about flaws? Phobias? How do they view and treat others? She's a snarker, and a deadpan one at that. Nalexa's always going to be one of the first to make an off-hand comment, usually regarding something that will go wrong. It's not that she's pessimistic-- on the contrary, she's actually pretty upbeat, but she finds dark humor in everything. She's pretty genuine with how she acts-- what you see is what you get. She's perky but quiet...unless she's making one of those snarky comments. Nalexa is absolutely scared to death of gundarks. That stems from a prank pulled on her back during her earlier days in the military and just the thought of one will send her into a cold sweat. She's not a fan of heights either, but that one she can deal with. She's fairly polite, though she doesn't go out of her way to be.
ALSO
Behind the cut, my approved/denied stamps for Death's Regiment since there're Qell'zik ones running around too. MOODS ARE FUN, YO.
My goal is to write something every night, even if just a drabble, that isn't actually RPing. It can be RP related, but it has to be solo. The idea, of course, being to get me to writing original stuff again too. Eventually. So here's another Nalexa drabble. Again, pulling it off at 100 words exactly. :D
She still couldn't see. Her right eye was completely blind-- that wasn't news, but she still couldn't see well out of her left either. At least not enough to do anything worthwhile. And with her hands still bound in stuncuffs, she couldn't even easily feel it, see if there was any other damage to her face. The excruciating pain, untouched by what little medical attention she had received was centered on her destroyed eye, but the rest of her face still ached. But despite the pain, the disorienting darkness in her cell, the fear was fading.
"You will not win."
