Why the heck can so many of them sing?
So from rewatching KH3/Remind and KHMoM I got some refreshers regarding Xehanort and Nameless Star and a little bit of Yozora with a little speculation on top.
This is what Apprentice Terranort tells Kairi in KHMoM:
"If you arrive in a world that's neither light nor darkness but somewhere on the other side, your task will be far from easy. If that happens, you must abandon your search - we have failed."
This is said in relation to sending Kairi out to seek out a keyblade wielder's world. Despite his severe memory loss at the time, Terranort still or already knew about unreality - and it wasn't his goal at that point. It was a point of failure. This was not something known to anyone else at the RG labs; Ansem tW can only speculate on it after Kairi tells him about this. How did he find out? Did Luxu or Subject X remind him?
This begs the question if this was really his goal, to land as some version of himself in unreality. The shot of him with his broken see-through umbrella carries a sense of sadness - not just for Sora, but Xehanort too. A transparency and vulnerability that he didn't let anyone see before.
Now regarding Nameless Star, this is what she had to say in KH3:
"(Whose heart are you?) No one's anymore. They took away my name - everything about me. (They couldn't have taken your heart.) Only because it pines for another. [...] He's been changed beyond recognition. His heart replaced with another's."
And in KHMoM, FGM says this:
"Her form was taken from her, but she managed to find her way here. If she goes back to her world, her heart will surely be stolen."
With the trailer showing the black feathers that KHML beta players have said are associated with body snatching/control, I think we have a strong contender for seeing someone possessing her body and pretending to be her.
It seems that 'form taken' and 'heart replaced' are different concepts. Comparing Yozora to past KH cases, I'll hazard a guess that he's in a somewhat Terra-like situation - a mismatched fusion of beings, one heart caged by another that takes control; but the will stays strong.
In conclusion, as of now my guess is that Xehanort will be a broken ally, Star's body snatcher will deceive Sora, and Yozora will make seemingly nonsensical decisions because his will and heart don't match.
btw since Sora ditched his bigass chain for a normal-looking one it now resembles the necklace worn by the Nameless Star just in a different shape. which could mean nothing.
