Grendel my free web host has folded
I am always banging on about how awful web companies are so here is something refreshing to you all.
I would like to recommend Names.co.uk for superb customer support. I basically have little clue about things computer and internet. They helped me point my domain at the new server in simple language that a layman can understand and in friendly way that did not imply that they thought I was a complete dork. Easy to understand control panel even for me.
Secondly my new FREE hosts 5freehosting. It really is free, no catches , no ads, and again great customer service even though you are paying nothing.
When I wrote my last post here I always put my “ running” website address at the bottom and I always click it to check the link. My heart sank when I read that I no longer had a host as Grendel had ceased to operate. I need not have worried. With the assistance of these two companies I was able with the minimal knowledge that I have to be up and running again in very little time.
As the pub Landlord would say cheers and a pint for the fellows at these great companies and a glass of white wine or a fruit juice for the Ladies.
