This is something I’ve thought about a lot the past month. As I’m starting to feel more comfortable with my chosen name, I notice how uncomfortable my old name makes me feel. It’s a shame, but it’s also the truth.

How about Ella?

Ever since my mom told me about the names they had in mind for me before I was born, I have really liked the name Ella, specifically for myself, as sort of a “secret name”. Maybe I should give it a try and see how it fits…

This was the immediate follow-up to this post: [x]. It was scary when I first asked friends to use a different name for me, but now it just feels normal and so, so right.
