【✟】- Maneuvering in this city was really difficult, to put it lightly. He didn’t take many subways back home as it is, deciding on walking most everywhere, and now, considering the buildings just...move around on some kind of schedule and in some kind of pattern--the thought was quickly making his head start to hurt and his patience dwindle even faster. Still, he couldn't avoid having little to no bearings on his surroundings forever, so he decided, probably against his better judgement, to venture out from the wet, murky, charming little shit-fest that is District Alpha.
Fortunately, he winded up here in one piece. Well, missing an arm, of course, but that occurred way before he was thrown into the city anyway. It wasn't much different. Still loud and bustling. Something was tickling his neck. Nothing super out of the ordinary--
Wait.
Look, it was just a rogue branch that had snagged itself on his collar, but Gren wasn't aware of that, as he instantly let out a yelp-crossed-with-a-grunt thing, and his hand instantly flew to his neck in desperation of smacking away what ever was intruding on his neck. ❝Fuckin’--fuck! Shit--!❞, a string of profanities sprang fourth from his mouth as he continued this strange, jerky dance of movements in an attempt to free himself; until he finally made eye contact with the stranger that was eyeing him wearily from 5 feet away.
Jacket half-on half-off and his collar at an odd angle as he was still stuck on the branch; his lips tightly pressed together, forming a line, he started the other right in the eyes for a good 10 seconds before speaking. ❝So, uh...H-How long have you been standin’ there?❞

Al winces as he forces down another swig of whatever drink this diner was trying to pass off as hot tea. The mixed signals of deja vu felt maddening as he glanced around the diner, enough so that he actually finally decided to address one; a strange man who seems familiar that had just entered moments before.
“Ah, excuse me. I’m sorry for asking this out of the blue, but have we met before?” The inspector inquires after trying to catch the other’s attention, “And if I’m wrong then take this warning as my apology: don’t order the hot tea here. It’s horrendous.”
VRISKA: Heeeeeeeey, Sean.
VRISKA: Did you think I wouldn't notice you since you're all dressed up? Come on now. I can recognize your dorkiness from a mile away!
VRISKA: Anyways, why aren't you dancing? Let's go!
"I heard that you eat babies for breakfast."
“Nyet. Heavy am explaining to you. This is expression.”
Heavy am not actually eating babies. Entire enemy team is babies because of screaming and crying and gnashing of teeth in agony as Heavy’s boolets rip through defenseless flesh. It is as easy to Heavy to keel many cowards as it is for Heavy to eat sandvich in morning.
Dis is why Heavy am saying he eats baby men for breakfast.
Also, it would take too many babies to feed Heavy.”

You're too afraid to talk to anyone about everything that's been going on, even though there's nothing you long for more than a friend you can trust with monologues about your feelings.. Never again, you promised yourself. Not after Eridan left.
But that doesn't mean you don't want to take a risk and try to get close to someone. You want to be silly with someone, play games with them, tell them what's been happening. Still, wanting something is never enough. Part of you believes that you don't deserve that sort of closeness, and part of you assumes you'll never get it.
Today, however, is different. Smiling loosely, you tap a message into your phone and press SEND without a second thought.
