He chose the quaint restaurant in Jeju for a number of reasons: the food was divine, the service was quick and kind, and the location was perfectly situated given that Detective Han brought his colleague from London to have the whole ‘tourist experience’. While the blond soaked in every bit of what Korea had to offer its Western patrons, Detective Han just grinned and bear it because after all, it was a favor to Anderson’s father, really. He tried to abstain from alcohol for most of the day too. He knew what kind of man alcohol would bring out when it came to Anderson Evans.
One trip to the restroom was proof of that. He came back to the table with the bottle in one hand and a glass in the other, pouring what looked like Anderson’s third of the evening. The waitress who served him seemed to have that tolerable look on her face that rivaled Detective Han’s. As Anderson shouted for entertainment, the rowdy group of young men joined in. Come on Jun, don’t be a downer! The detective stiffened his faux smile and took a shot with his colleague.
