father!hajime who cries while holding his newborn. the child is a perfect mix of the both of you, hajime’s eyes, and your beautiful hair color. tears begin to cascade down his face, one dripping down onto the small baby’s face, making it smile. he looks over to you, tears dripping down your face as well. he reaches a hand out to wipe them from your face, still holding the child with one arm. “they’re perfect..” his voice quivers, unable to keep it steady, but not caring. he hands the child back to you, staying as steady and careful as he can.
father!hajime who comes home from work to find you and your child asleep on the couch waiting for him, feeling his heart soften at the sight. tired from work he sets down his bag filled with paperwork, taking his hat off and setting it on the table. sitting next to you and wrapping his arms around your sleeping form. shushing you when you begin to stir awake. “shh..it’s okay, i’m home now go back to sleep alright?” he pets your hair as a small smile graces your face, beginning to fall back asleep.
father!hajime who freaks out and scrambles to find you when the baby begins to cry. you laugh softly and show him how to bounce the child to calm them down. he begins to repeat the same motions you made. the baby’s crying ceases and it begins to yawn and close it’s eyes.
father!hajime who begins to bring home gifts from other guards at nanba. a dog plush from kenshirou, a monkey onesie from samon, a pop up book called “what a beautiful baby” from kiji, and a cute baby bouncer and a set of bottles from the warden. for awhile he acts like he’ll throw all of the gifts away, but once he sees your baby crawling towards the dog plushie with grabby hands, he begins to rethink.
father!hajime who worries his head off when you come to visit him at nanba with the baby. “MY LOVE WHY WOULD YOU BRING THE BABY?!” he has never been more on edge than right now. in the break room all the guards coo and gush over the baby. asking begging to hold and play with them. when the inmates see them they begin to question how hajime could even land such a girl, let alone have a kid with her. those questions got them in a lot of trouble.
father!hajime who has pictures of your happy little family all over his office. he has framed photos on his desk and small pictures stuffed in his wallet. he looks at them whenever he feels he needs a boost of encouragement. his most favorite picture is one of all three of you + kuu, sitting in front of your house playing.
father!hajime who gets captured and tries desperately to find a way out so he can get back to you. he slams his body against the cell door, careful not to activate the handcuffs. after multiple attempts and some convincing from samon, he gives up and waits. “I can’t be stuck here…they need me.” his head hung in shame and disbelief because he can’t believe he got captured so easily.
father!hajime who breaks down crying when he is finally reunited with the two of you. holding you tightly, afraid you’ll both disappear if he lets you out of his sight again. “I’m sorry…I promise I’m never going anywhere again.” you rub his back soothingly, holding him so closely it’s suffocating.
