Nancy and Mateo look good together, but I don't think they have great chemistry.

Yeah, for me, it’s just the idea that they have a lot of potential, but they just haven’t brought it all together and haven’t really embraced all that these characters can be. Like if they’d put Tarlos level efforts into Nanteo, things could be very different.

(and I’m interested how they’ll explore Nancy’s bisexuality *or however she defines herself* because being bisexual and in a straight passing relationship is very different than being straight, and I’d like to see those nuances on screen but don’t know if we’ll get them).

I didn't like Nancy ratting Tk to Tommy. That's not a good friend or having your partner back but stabbing him. When she checked and found nothing missing, she should have waited and told carlos or one of their friends to help Tk or even told Tommy she's worried with Tk's grief he could relapse not what he did. No matter how close with their boss she's their boss and have responsibility and a right to report it.

I see what you’re saying, but I don’t share the same perspective. Nancy was clearly conflicted about making the choice, but I think she did the right thing. She trusts Tommy, and yes, Tommy does have certain responsibilities but Nancy also shouldn’t be keeping that kind of thing to herself because Nancy also has certain responsibilities because of her job, so she was being responsible in her handling of the situation in my view. Nancy also was clear to say that she didn’t know for sure if anything did happen, so she very much was expressing her concerns for TK more than stabbing him in the back at all. I really think Nancy made the best decision given the scenario, and she knew the potential for backlash and consequences that she would hate but she did it anyway because she cares about TK and wants to do the right thing.

I have to say that the best decision LS made was adding Gina Torres to the cast and promoting Brianna Baker to full time. The depth of these two really helps the storytelling of the show! 🙌🏻

Agreed 100%. I didn't hate Michelle, but I think the writers didn't do a lot with her character (with her character's story they did more, but Michelle herself not so much development), so I think when Gina Torres came, it brought a lot to the show (and admittedly I've liked a lot of what she's been in in the past!) Tommy fits right in and I think her personality adds a good balance to the cast. The same is true of Nancy. Plus, their chemistry with the other characters really does it for me.

Do you think a loyal friendship between TK and Nancy is going to happen? I know TK could never replace Tim but having TK take over his role must feel like somewhat of a comfort for Nancy because she already knows TK.

Yeah, I can definitely see them being friends and having a lot of good banter moments because I think that they are already comfortable together and they’ll be spending more time together now, which will be cool. I want to see more of Nancy so I will accept many interactions. (insert my petition to make Nancy a main character)

I can get behind Nancy and Mateo too because they both seem like kind people at heart and thinking about their personalities and who they are in general I could see how they are a match. I do have something to say but I’m not sure how it will be interpreted because it isn’t really a complaint just an observation and an opinion. I would like to see Mateo and Nancy develop as people (characters, really) on their own before they got together because we know sooo little about both of them. Of course they can still do that when (if) they get together but I would have liked to know more about Nancy as a person and who she likes in another person and more about her background in general and the same for Mateo. I think we’ll get that again but I would have liked to see them developed a bit more on their own before this? I’m probably the only one who thinks that. Just my two cents. And although I think Nancy and Mateo would be cute, I can’t help but wonder was this always the plan? It doesn’t really matter if it was because I’m here for it and plans change all the time. But I ask because I wonder if every person on the show HAS to be coupled up. There’s no issue with that on my end at all but I wonder why? Nancy and Mateo are cute. Paul and Marjan are also cute (way cuter imo because they’re building them up) but I just wonder? I like Nancy and Mateo as a concept and I know not everyone stays single forever because that’s not realistic especially in a tv show but everyone is hinting at being coupled up and I wonder what’s wrong with not every character getting into a relationship especially with another main character? I hope this doesn’t seem like I’m being mean about Nancy and Mateo because I’m not. The idea of them is cute but I just wonder? I think these two have the potential to be a nice couple but this is just my question and opinion

That's a fair point. I think it's good to start the romantic build up, but I don't want to see that at the expense of their personal growth. We've gotten more Mateo development lately, which has been great, but we haven't had too many serious or main stories from him. He's kind of very much sidelined a lot. The same is true of Nancy, and she's had even fewer storylines about her, so there's still a lot to learn about her. With Paul and Marjan, it's easier because they've been close friends for so long, and they're starting a little later with Nancy and Mateo (plus it seems like they're going heavier on romantic vibes sooner). Also, in general, I don't want to just see Owen's dating life (we've also seen Tommy kind of sort of date but that didn't go well lol), but I think seeing other characters like Marjan, Paul, Nancy, or Mateo kind of dating other people before seeing an established relationship would be good. Just because I think that would ease the just pairing everyone off vibes a little hahaha. But I'm pretty open to seeing whatever the writers choose to do going forward and seeing how the trajectory of all the couples are different.

How do you feel about the Nancy and Mateo scene? Before I get into that can I say in a slight side note that I absolutely adore Mateo in the way he is so perceptive of people’s true feelings and he’s this warm presence always checking in on people and I just love that about him. He’s such a guy with a comforting presence especially in times after something has happened to one of the crew members or they witnessed something. Ok- back to the question. Mateo is a sweet heart who was checking in with Nancy and I want to hug him for that. It warmed my heart. Of course it could just be nothing but Mateo being the kind soul he is during a hard time. I’m not going to assume much because this was a short scene of them together but I’m keeping my eye on the possibility of it. If they do ‘go there’ with them I hope they built it like Paul and Marjan and don’t force something just to shove two people together but again I’m not gonna make assumptions on such a short scene. Not to be petty but honestly I’d take a Nancy and Mateo storyline over more Owen screen time so *shrugs*

Yes I love moments when they show that side of Mateo and how caring he is. And the painful thing is that when he was talking to Al, he wasn’t thinking about the gun because instead he was showing care and sympathy to Al. And then he feels guilty for not noticing anything when really he was just being a good person and had no reason to assume Al would shoot the other man. So, I think it was a really good moment for them to give Mateo!

As for Nancy and Mateo, I do feel like they’re leaning in a romantic direction with them, and I can get behind it! I never would have paired them together myself, but I think they can build a relationship that feels right between them, and they’re kind of taking good steps. Also, I loved how they showed Mateo being a little anxious and hesitant about asking Nancy to coffee and that def made it feel more like a *date* coffee. And it was cute how Nancy replied and she almost seemed relieved that he was asking like just the idea of not having to be alone took out some of the pent out bad feelings.
