The thing was, Noah didn’t actually need to go to the library - or at least, he didn’t need to go for a third time this week. Sure, he was a new freshman at the university in town, but it was only the first month of classes, and he was definitively on-track with all of his homework. Studying wasn’t exactly what was on his mind though. No, the thing that kept bringing him back to the library was the attractive worker there. Even now, as Noah browsed none-too-intently in the anthropology section, he could see him at the help desk.
J.D was his name, as he’d overheard about a week ago. He looked a few years older than he was, probably in his mid-twenties. It was just that air of experience and general charm that had Noah coming back, and also what had him thinking some very inappropriate thoughts for a guy he’d only shared a couple of sentences with. Even as much as he wanted to actually have a conversation with him, Noah wasn’t honestly sure how to go about it. He wasn’t exactly new to the whole dating, relationship, sex stuff, but he’d never done any of that with a guy. It was only in the past several years that he even realized his own attraction to other guys. Damn it though, J.D looked so good, just sitting casually with no idea of his effect.
So with a sudden burst of some kind of idiotic bravery, Noah began walking towards the desk J.D was at. Of course, as he reached it, looking at the incredibly good-looking face of his sort-of-crush, he realized he hadn’t actually thought of what he was going to say. “Uh,” he started out, his next words coming out a bit too quick. “I need help with something. A book. Finding a book.” He gave a nod, half trying to convince himself. “About ancient Rome? It’s, uh, it’s for a school project.”
