âmaybe,â she merely said, opting to not go further into detail. if she did she had the feeling she would go even further down the rabbit hole than she already was. she honestly had no idea if she should stick around or try to leave. she knew that akira would only keep talking to her and going in circles. that was obvious from the way that things were going. he was so different from anyone that she had come across for plenty of reasons. she never imagined that she would be speaking with him. her mind was practically buzzing and she felt like she was rendered speechless. it was rare that she was put in such position where she didnât know what to say. then again it wasnât like akira was the typical person. he wasnât even a typical vampire given his age and his position in the world.Â
her eyes widened a bit when she realized that she had made another mistake. he seemed amused by her question. she sighed and shook her head at his words,â i didnât have a specfic idea of you,â she said quickly,â and i never imagined that you would be some broody or whatever else you come up with.â she instantly rolled her eyes as he tried to change his expression. a more somber expression appeared and she shook her head,â who said anything about me wanting you a certain way?âÂ
she knew that there was no way that he was able to keep up such an act all the time. there had to be a different side of him that not many if anyone got to see. yet she wasnât about to push that fact since she doubted he would admit it. she knew already that she had possibly gotten to him with her observations. at the very least she had annoyed him given how he rolled his eyes at her,â you realize that if someone with such a short life span has sentimental moments than surely someone who has lived as long as you has to have had them.â it was simple to her but maybe it wasnât something so simple to him.Â
never before had she imagined that she would be in such a position. her breath hitched at the fact that he was so utterly close to her. let alone the fact that blood was dribbling down from the puncture wound he had formed. her breath hitched when his hand caught hers before she could try to wipe the blood from her skin. all she could do was stare as he seemed entranced by it,â it has,â she breathed, frozen as he brought her hand up to his mouth. she was frozen in place as he lapped at it again. his gaze was fixated on her mouth again and she had the feeling she knew what he was thinking. she forced herself to take a deep breath,â i think iâm not the one who has a need that needs to be satisfied,â she confessed,â or am i wrong about this as well?âÂ
âOh, boo,â he pouted. âYou give in too easily.â And he desperately wanted her to keep playing with him. In that moment, he wanted nothing more than to spar with this little human. He wondered how long it would take her to adjust or if she ever would, if sheâd be able to start turning his words into ammunition and twist and throw them back at him just as he did her. No one ever did. More often than not, he was talking to people who gawked at his presence. His fans just expressed their blind admiration for him, confessing limitless love and claiming to be the greatest off all of them. Those who werenât fans still knew what he was, and the novelty of standing face to face with a creature that went bump in the night was nothing to scoff at. And sure, he gobbled up their admiration with as much greed as anyone, but he didnât have an equal. Nobody dared fire back at him.
âCome on, yes, you did. Everyone has an idea of me...especially someone who reads deeply enough into my music to find the location of a nest thatâs a very well kept secret, whatever suspicions you had about it or not.â Not that the secrets of vampires were a particularly big deal to him. Not thinking of those one bit, he grinned again when she rolled her eyes. A much better reaction than her just giving in to what he said. She was playing again. He liked an active participant. âAw, youâll hurt my feelings if you keep talking like that. Youâll make me think you donât want me in any way at all.â
He blinked a few times as he considered her logic, tipping his head to the side while studying her. She truly believed that. She believed he was a sentimental creature, and he didnât like it. âYou realize that if sentimentality is a human concept, then surely, it fades away pretty quickly after death and the transition into something inhuman, hm? Iâve been around to long to bother with shit like that anymore.â He said it casually, carelessly, while brushing a hand through his hair. It was a perfectly believable statement. He couldnât think of any reason why sheâd find a lie there. It wasnât like she actually knew him.
She knew his public image. She knew him as a bloodsucking predator. He would happily play up that idea, too, until there were no remaining questions as to his sentimentality. It was a shame, really, that he had to do that instead of enjoy this. Enjoy her. Though...he was still enjoying it. The taste of her blood, the sight of it against her skin, the scent of it hanging heavily in the air around him. Even when heâd cleaned her hand, he still held it close to his mouth like heâd find the ghost of the taste there. âOh, little lamb...â he cooed with his lips brushing against the warmth of her hand. âI have an entire planet full of people whoâd jump at the chance to satisfy me, so whatever I want, Iâll have. Iâm being nice enough to offer to satisfy you. If thereâs nothing you want...â he dropped her hand abruptly again and stepped away from her. âLeave. And never come back,â
