I finished my first novel!
Y’all, I finally finished the Island! For those who don’t know, this is a nano novel that was birthed during November 2016. I went through and looked at how many months I’ve actively been writing this story and it’s about nine months. So it took nine months to write the first draft of my first-ever original work. The final word count is 89, 005. I don’t think I’m an over-writer, I think the parts I wrote during nano were unnecessarily long because I didn’t know Aaron’s voice very well until the middle of the novel. The ending is what I planned in my outline but I feel some type of way about the last line. It’s good but it’s not great. I think I’ll have a stronger line once I’ve read it through. Anyway, I wrote the last line today, December 13, 2016 at 7:46 pm. Feeling some mixed emotions, mostly pride that I did a thing?? And it’s not complete trash?? I’ve gotten teary-eyed but haven’t cried and I don’t think I will. I still have a lot of work to do on this manuscript so I’m not going to miss it. I’m so thankful for the characters and how they trusted me, a total goblin, to write them. I’m just really happy, guys. Even as a writer, it’s an indescribable feeling. I just hope that you guys will or have experienced this because I think it’s one of the best feelings in the world. Okay, I’m going to stop rambling and update my WIP page. You, get back to writing! Thanks for reading, ok byeeeee!
