jett's hands are bruised and plastered with bandaids due to her hobby of doing knife tricks. (it is canon that she often plays with her kunai.) balisong/karambit/kunai tricks with a real blade can easily cut you if you're not careful.

i personally think killjoy isn't the type to initiate affection first, as she finds it embarrassing and awkward + she doesn't understand social cues/signals. this act of affection however, makes it so much more meaningful because of that.

because killjoy isn't the type to initiate affection (hugs/kisses/etc) but still wants to express her love to jett, they've agreed on...handshakes! or just holding hands, haha.

"it'll be alright." i was listening to car seat headrest while drawing this, and cosmic hero autoplayed. the whole "it'll be alright" breakdown in cosmic hero is bitter and sarcastic, but i had an idea to shape it into something sweet for this comic.

jett's dialogue in "it'll be alright" is a reference to the hidden lyrics in bodys (mirror to mirror).

killjoy's scars. i personally think she scratches her arms and bites her hands due to anxiety.
