I’m quite proud of this one.
I have been stuck on my novel for six months. Just totally unable to see the forest for the trees. Then I was in a conversation with a friend about it and a tiny idea appeared.
We sat very still and the idea came a little closer. And a little closer. And then my friend gave it a skittle and it stayed. I wrote 20,000 words in one week, assembled a bunch of other pieces, write another 310,000 words and here we are.
Time to check in, I guess.I won NaNoWriMo a few days ago, but I figured I’d wait til the end to post about it in case I got more words in over Thanksgiving. (spoilers: I didn’t.) But my total after the month was 52,377, which is actually better than I thought I’d do. I got a lot done that last day at work before the holiday.
SfaD is still in first draft form, I can think of a lot of things I need to expand on, especially since I decided to change pov format halfway through. An’ it’s not even finished, I only got to the start of the finale before the end of the month. But I do wanna finish it soon, an’ hopefully have at least that before I take a break an’ go into editing later on in 2020. With any luck, this might wind up something. At any rate, I love that I was able to actually get this far, since this is the first time I’ve hit 50k since being employed an’ attempting the challenge.
An’ now onto making a bunch of samplers for Christmas an’ remembering to draw comics again. xD
This is the first year I’ve tried to do NaNoWriMo, and I chose to not do the traditional single novel but focus on writing 50k words in a single month on any number of projects. And on Day 23, I hit my goal!
I have never written so many words so quickly before, and this is the first year that I’ve written as much as I have. It feels so good to know that I managed this, something that I honestly thought I wouldn’t have been able to do a few short months ago.

I hit 50k words today!
Novel's just barely halfway through too. *flop* But I've got the momentum going. I'm not stopping here!
Alright, kids, I did it. It's 2:30 in the morning here and I have officially finished Nanowrimo at 50.036 words.
Story ain't done yet, and I'm going to keep writing (in the coming days, not right now. I'm going to sleep in like a hot second), but I finally did it. I finally completed a full Nanowrimo in time.
*takes a deep bow.*
