Wilbur had company over his home, Quackity had swung by to chat and sit down with a cup of coffee. They'd become closer, Quackity was almost like a second father to his little girl Tallulah. Quackity had needed a second, just to brew up a cup for him to drink when Wilbur heard the telltale sound of Tallulah's flute.
A fond smile pulled at Wilbur's cheeks, slipping away from Quackity to check in on Tallulah in the other room. When he stood in the doorway, he could see Tallulah hopping around the room, giggling into her flute as she played her notes.
"Lulah?" Wilbur called softly, smiling when the little girl jumped slightly, turning around to face him. She blinked before smiling, raising her hands up and hugging Wilbur's legs, as they were all she could reach, "Papí!"
Wilbur leaned down and placed one of his knees on the hardwood floor, taking Tallulah's face in his hands and pressing a kiss into her brown curls, "What are you doing in here, little one?"
Tallulah bounced on her feet, "Playing! With a friend!" She brought her flute up to her lips and played another note, "They said I sound awesome!"
Wilbur hummed, subconsciously looking around the room for any potential entry points. There were none, the room was safe. "That's nice, Lulah. Is it an imaginary friend?" He asked, tilting his head.
Tallulah puffed out her cheek, crossing her arms dramatically and shaking her head, "No! They're really really real, promise! They have a pretty bow and black hair! And- and the pretty sun wings!"
Wilbur felt his heart drop, listening to Tallulah continue. A little red bow. Short raven black hair, framing their face perfectly. Sun colored wings. Tallulah only continued, too caught up in her excitement to tell her father of a new friend.
The giant screen glowed green, showing the winner of the fight. Scar looked up at the blinding lights and shielding his eyes, huffing as the tried to collect his breath.
He let out a surprised laugh, "I- I won?" He looked over to his opponent Techno, who was wiping off his shirt, sweat clinging his outfit to him, his cape taken off a while ago.
"Yep." Techno drawled, fixing the lopsided crown on his head.
Another laugh escaped Scar, and he threw his hands in the air, "I won! Oh man- I can't believe it! I could've sworn I would've lost-"
Techno huffed out a laugh, "Haven't had a good fight like that in years." He smiled, sticking out a hand for the other man. "GG, Scar."
Scar looked over and grinned, reeling back to give Techno's hand a good smack as they collided, shaking his hand firmly.
It was night. Some time near midnight, Phil was taking his son and granddaughter out to explore. He planned on taking them back home to rest after adventuring all day. He stopped at a village, maybe to sleep there for the night, since they were so far from home.
He couldn't have protected them.
Something came charging at them, invisible. Strong. So strong. Phil panicked, telling the children to get out of there.
Tallulah went down first.
The small girl fell to the ground, gasping for breath. She reached out for her grandfather, face twisted up in pain. She couldn't get words out, only gasps and whimpers in pain.
Phil quickly fell beside her, suddenly weak. He couldn't get back up. He panicked, looking around, but his eyes refused to see.
"Chayanne?!" He called in distress, "Chayanne, run! It's too strong!"
He felt his granddaughter drag her way into his arms, and he pulled her close, "I'm sorry," He gasped, feeling the pulse of pain stab through him. He blinked, and the cloud of darkness faded from his eyes.
He looked down in his arms and saw the way life started to drain from Tallulah's eyes. She reached up to grip onto Phil's shirt, her eyes slipping shut as she breathed out her last word, "Abuelito.."
Phil's hands shook, already feeling the effects of whatever attacked them draining his life, too. He looked up, watching Chayanne claw his way over to them.
Phil pulled Chayanne to his chest, curling around the children like he was protecting them. He couldn't anymore, they were dying in his arms.
"Chayanne, I'm sorry.." He sniffed, tears streaming down his face, "This world doesn't want us to live.."
He held the children close, even when they fell limp in his arms. He felt an ache in his head get grander and grander, squeezing his eyes closed.
He distantly realized he had a nightmare, but it didn't matter right now. His son and granddaughter were here. They were alive.
He suddenly felt pressure on his stomach, gasping as his eyes shot open, sitting up quickly. Tears streamed down his face, and he looked around in confusion. Chayanne and Tallulah sat in front of him, both in their pajamas as they looked up at Phil with worry.
He gathered them in his arms, holding them close to his chest and curling around them.
He will protect them even if it was the last thing he would do.
Bdubs gingerly dragged the red nail polish down Cleo's ring finger, his tongue stuck out as he did. "Do ya think everyone's doing well in their fights?" He asked, too engrossed in painting Cleo's nails.
Cleo made a small face, looking up from picking through different makeup products, "Uuhh..."
She looked towards the far wall, seeing the other candidates go after each other viscously. Most were at least trying to hold their own. Doc could be seen on the ground, Scar towering over him. Cleo squinted, she couldn't tell if Scar had shoved his sword through his chest or if that was just the lighting.
Her eyebrows furrowed, looking over to the other groups. Etho and Quackity seemed to have banded together, keeping each other winning and helping each other out. Cleo wasn't sure if that was allowed, but they're doing it.
She turns back to Bdubs with a nod, "Definitely. I'm sure they're fine."
Wilbur laughed, everything was going his way, he loved it. Everyone was terrified, not knowing when he'd strike. He loved seeing the fear in their eyes. This was the peak of his ways, wasn't it?
Tommy stopped believing what Wilbur said a long time ago, he couldn't trust the one he used to call his brother anymore. He could barely trust Techno anymore. The only one he could trust was Tubbo, what happened?
Techno sighed in the dirt mound he barely called home. He was a king, a warrior at least. Why was he here? How did he get here? Guilt laid heavy on his shoulders, he killed everyone, sure, they respawned, but the weight of it all was unbearable. What had he become?
All three of them froze.
Wilbur stared in shock as the words lit up in front of him, "No... It can't be..."
Techno smiled slightly at the sentence, "It was about time, dad."
Tommy jumped up when he saw the words, cheering loudly and hopeful, "MR. MINECRAFT!!"
Sapnap poked his head in the bedroom door, an eyebrow raised, "What?"
George sat on the bed, his laptop in his lap. He was in shorts and an oversized hoodie, Sapnap identified it as Dream's.
He pointed at something on the screen, "Look-look!!" He sounded like a kid on Christmas.
Sapnap chuckled, going to sit with him. When he saw what George was looking at he gasped, "Oh my god."
It was name bracelets, they were very pretty and came in many colors and designs. Currently on the screen was a silver one with small jewels on it that spelled out someone's name.
"It's so cute." George gushed, Sapnap nodded, "It is... How much is it?"
George scrolled down, when he saw the price both he and Sapnap grimaced. "Sometimes things can be left in the shopping cart," George closed the laptop, visibly deflating. He liked those bracelets.
"I wanted to get two for each of us..." George muttered. Sapnap took his hand, "Hey, it's okay, we can always just make some."
George frowned, nodding. He slid the laptop on the bed and got up, stretching slightly, before walking out the room.
As he left he quite literally ran into Dream. "Oh- Hey George." Dream chuckled as George stumbled back, a light pink blush rolling across his face.
"DREAAAAM!!" Sapnap called, running out the room and tackling the other in a hug. Dream wheezed, knocked slightly off balace before he stabilized, pulling George into the hug as well.
He snuggled into Dream with a hum, "How come you're home so early...?"
Dream shrugged, "I wanted to see you two."
"Simp."
"Shut up Sapnap."
~
It had been a few days after George had mentioned the name bracelets, Sapnap was laying on the couch, lazily scrolling through what looked like Instagram.
After a few minutes, the doorbell rang, the ravenette rose an eyebrow, going to get up before his taller boyfriend barreled down the hall.
"I got it!!" Dream shouted, going to the door. Sapnap could hear him thanking someone before closing the door. When he looked over he jumped up, Dream was holding a medium sized box.
"Whoa! What's that? Is it for you? Is it for me?" He babbled, Dream wheezed, "Hold on- go get George, I'll tell you when he's here."
Sapnap sped into their room, coming back and dragging a sleepy George from their room to the living room. When George saw Dream he was wide awake, "What's that?"
Dream chuckled, "You're both like puppies I swear- sit down, I'll show you."
George pulled Sapnap by the collar down to the couch, Sapnap making a slight choking noise before sitting down himself. When Dream gave him the box he immediately opened it, gasping at what he saw.
Inside were three small jewelry boxes. George looked up at Dream in surprise, the other just nodded. He opened one up and- yep, there were two bracelets in the box, each had the same name on them. "You didn't-"
"I did." Dream cut off Sapnap. His smile grew wider when the other two pulled out the other boxes, babbling excitedly as they slipped two bracelets on each other's wrists before turning to Dream and doing the same.
When they were finished they tackled Dream to the floor, the tallest making a disgruntled noise but laughed anyway, "You're welcome." He grinned.
George nuzzled into his chest, "How did you afford one? Let alone six?" Dream shook his head, "Don't worry about that, just enjoy your gifts."
And they would continue to enjoy their gifts until they eventually grew too worse for wear.
