6. A turning point in their life (Ishtar)

“So you just sit up here, all by yourself?” Ishtar questioned.

“Yep! Just me. I like to sit here by myself to think about stuff” Monty replied, a wide grin on her face.

The two had an eventful day of running around the neighborhood, all in innocent fun. The two were now sitting on the top of the roof of Monty’s home, splitting a large order of fries among themselves.

“Soo... why did you want me to sit here with you?”

The look of confusion is very apparent on Ishtar’s face, but Monty responded to that with a sweet smile.

“Because I trust you! That’s why. You’re like an older sibling to me!” She explains and hugs fae tightly.

Ishtar flinched slightly at the hug before hugging back tightly. It genuinely surprised fae that that’s how she felt about fae. But it felt nice. To be a role model of sorts to someone. To be appreciated like that. Fae liked that a lot. And now fae had a little sister of sorts too!

And there was nothing fae wouldn’t do to protect her from harm.

Maq stood ankle deep in water. He looked absolutely terrified.

“You syhaw this is safe?“

“Yeha! It’s fine, Maq!” Poppy exclaimed, nearly completely submerged in the water. “There’s nothing in here except Sebi and Remi. And they’re our friends! So it’s fine! Now c’mon! Let’s go in deeper!”

Maq watched as Poppy started paddling her way into deeper water. He took in a breath before carefully shuffling his way into deeper water, refusing to go any deeper once it was midway up his thighs.

Poppy paddled her tiny body back towards him and climbed on top of his back to rest.

“Ah'm sorry ah didn't gitty-up any deeper” He lowers his head a little.

“Hey don’t be! You did good, pal!” Poppy reassures and pats him lightly

“Yeah! Ah done do daisy!!” Maq grins and bounces in place lightly. He’s not entirely sure he’ll ever really get over his aquaphobia, but he’s proud of himself for trying

“they’re pretty uhh,,, out there!! I ‘unno how else t’ really out it t’ be honest. But dun get me wrong, they’re all real sweet’earts!! :D

Rebbeka is like real chill. Kinda intimidatin’ at first but like, she’s real chill and a big sweet’eart. She’s like a big sis t’ me :) Her girlfriend is pretty chill too. But like, yea, Rebbeka is hella strong and honestly? Goals. Also she can like, carry all of us at once and it’s a lotta fun :))

Abby is fuckin’ wild. He’s always got some theory goin’ on about somethin’ and is so adamant about figuring the truth. Hella ambitious. He’s real funny too. :^)c Apparently when he first met me he thought I was part of a gang or somethin’ and I’m just like??? What ever gave ‘im that idea??

Monty!! Is!!! A!! Fuckin’!!!! BABEY!!!!! :DD how the hell she hasn’t been ruined by anything I’ll never know but I hope she stays that way. She’s like a babey sis t’ me y’know? She doesn’t talk much ‘bout her own issues but she trusts me enough t’ tell me ‘bout ‘em and I really wish I could actually help out more besides listening.

Now Joey? Geez where do I begin with ‘em? They’re super sweet, and like the best thing to have ever happened to me besides meeting my moms. They got one hell of a fashion sense! It’s amazing what they can come up with. It always makes me happy to see ‘em all focused and whatnot cuz that’s the telltale of them planning out new clothes and it’s,, pure :DDDDDD
