An embarrassing post as an owner, but, one I'm gonna put out there anyway.
Nappy has always had a history of being extremely difficult to trim. I've done most of what I know to try and get him calmer and more well behaved, with minimal success. During the pandemic I was ghosted by not one, but two farriers, and minimal luck in finding a replacement.
But I found one, and together with a YEAR of hard work and training, we've finally put that little foundered pony back on track. It's been a lot of time and money and work - and I'm okay with that because I finally have someone willing to help me put in the work and spend more than 15 minutes on him.
Good farriers are hard to come by, but they are worth their weight in gold. However, it's also the job of the owner to put in the time with management, diet, and training.
Nappy mostly stands now, btw. Mostly.
