Made a Napoleonic era Oc!
Caterina Bonetti
Born in Bergamo, Northern Italy, in 1778, she originally joined the Grand Armée just to help her two enlisted brothers. But after helping show her talent in logistics and strategy during the two italian campaigns and egypt (wandering at napoleons side as a simple member of his entourage for 8 years), she was directly promoted to Marshal in 1804.
To secure her role in society and build a stable and faithful nobility for the new Empire, Napoleon stepped in and basically "suggested" Lannes to divorce his wife so the two could be paired up.
Because it was a forced political match that Lannes really didn't want to take part in, it started out completely cold. However, it eventually turned into a deeply loving relationship in their later years
After Lannes's death, the Russian campaign, and Napoleon's exile, she left the grand Armè. since the incoming Bourbon monarchy had zero space for a woman of that influence.
She retired to Venice, remaining fiercely loyal to the Emperor's legacy, even though she was always critical of his mistakes, just like she had been when she was a Marshal. She spent her final years fighting for women's rights until her death in 1851
More of her and Lannes 💔
