It can be produced on an industrial 🏭 scale from napthalene, the main chemical used in mothballs. Decalin is a common solvent for many industrial resins or fuel ⛽️ additives. Interestingly, many decalin derivatives are found in a diverse array of living organisms, especially bacteria and other microbes. Naftalin

Naftalinin ana bileşeni olan formülü C10H8 olan  aromatik hidrokarbon’dur. Madenkömürü katranının ayrımsal damıtması sırasında 200-250 derece aralığında toplanır. Kendine özgü kokulu , 80 °C’de ergiyen, 217 °C’de kaynayan, suda çözünmeyen parlak pullar halindedir. 1866’da Alman kimyacısı Emil Erlenmeyer tarafından onarılmış olan açık formülü, ortaklaşmış iki karbon atomu içeren iki bitişik benzen halkası gösterir.

Naftalin, bnzen gibi, yer değiştirme ve katılma tepkimelerine yatkındır. Tetralin, dekalin, naftoller, naftilaminler ve stalik anhidrit üretiminde, ayrıca güve öldürücü olarak (naftalin ticari adıyla) kullanılır.

New Stuff!!

I apologize for not having posted for a while; I have been quite busy. I am planning on ordering a new hotplate tomorrow, and I am pretty psyched. 

I also plan on purchasing 98-ish% nitric acid for a nitration (as well as sulfuric acid, in a lower concentration) and again, I am pretty psyched.

I am also ordering a new burette, accurate to the 100th of the milliliter.

I am super excited about all of this!
