Been a while since I posted any new drawings (outside of previous Asks and the comic pages), so here’s some I never posted before! Made months ago, still worth sharing now

The red-sided garter snakes converge on the Manitoba Narcisse Snake Dens every fall, following their snake senses to one of four den sites, where they winter in limestone cracks and crevasses that take them far below the frostline.

WHILE YOU’RE IN QUARANTINE SNAKES ARE GATHERING They emerge in the spring, usually in late April, to breed in the dens before dispersing to woods and wetlands up to 15 miles away. The females give birth to live young — as opposed to laying eggs — and can produce as many as 40 snakes every other year, according to Manitoba’s Snakes Alive website.

They’re all about breeding when they come out in the spring, so right now, all they’re thinking about is breeding,” said Pauline Bloom, Central Region wildlife manager for Manitoba Conservation and Water Stewardship in Gimli, Manitoba. “And then after the breeding season is completed, they disperse out to their summer grounds for feeding and having their young. source

A Talk About Memories and Minds

In this Universe, Memories are perceived as butterflies, which are considered as the embodiment of one's mind. That's not to say that's all minds are, of course.

Although the symbol remains that of a butterfly (as it was popularized by Tahira's projections and glass inventions), everyone perceives minds differently regardless of being mortal or godkin. In other words, they take different forms and shapes depending on the person.

To some, an open black space with phantoms floating around. To others, a gallery with paintings depicting stages of their lives. And for a few, crystalline statues coming to life and reenacting past events.

And I've seen my own mind too. A vast room with many a weaver's tools and needed accessories, and the memories depicted as white sheets with woven pictures on each.

Why do I know so much about this subject? Well, I too was born with some mind-related powers. After all, -Dream- is directly related to -Mind-.

And as the Weaver of Dreams, I can manipulate the shape of one's mind without harming them. Their memories turn into threads and strings which I use to create their Dreams. Each and every single one has their own color and glow; I only use a few of them to do so, of course, as to not overwhelm them in their sleep.

Interestingly, there are times when I come across someone's mind, and... A few threads tinged in deep red with no glow appear.

I can't see their contents no matter how hard I try, but I have a guess as to what they are: those are Strings of Fate, the same ones meant to show different futures. Only Prophets, Oracles, Soothsayers and those bound to -Vision- can see the contents within Strings of Fate. And only the Masked Deity, one of the Keepers, is known to create them in the first place... Hm.

In any case, where was I? Oh right, dreams and memories!

All I do is weave an image as the base of people's Dreams, and it's their minds that do most of the work as result. So no, I'm not responsible for their nightmares, got it? If they so happen to appear, that's their mind's doing, probably as either manifestation of fear or something in their subconscious trying to warn them of something.

-"Warn them of what?"

*"Well how should I know?! I'm a Sleep God, not a Soothsayer!"

-"Fair enough. You're better off as Narcise the Dream Weaver anyway."

*"Why thank you! Now then... Where was I going with this talk, again? I forgot."

-"I don't know. All I asked was how memories worked, and then you started rambling about them and people's perceptions of minds."

*"Oh, sure. How long did I ramble this time? I was told Abaven called all Nineteen for an urgent reunion."

-"Probably about ten minutes or so."

*"AAAAH!! I gotta hurry! We'll talk later, Kara!... Oh, and don't tell the others I slacked off again, please? They won't let me live it down!"

-"Okay! Tell my mentor I said "hi"!"
