It had been one year since China found the raven haired child.
Right now the Japanese was currently sitting at the veranda looking at the moon and stars in the sky. Remembering how the other had told him a story about the moon, he liked it, no, he loved it. Even though in his opinion the other is rather ‘strange’, to put it mildly. Still, there is no one in the world that can tell better stories than him but if he would admit such thing is a different story. ” Nihon? ”
The voice snapping him away from his thoughts as he turned his head a little to look behind him, ” …I’m here ” he mumbled before looking up at the sky again. ” Ah there you are ” Footsteps getting closer before he felt a presence behind him, ” What are you doing outside? You’ll catch a cold, aru ” The Chinese sat down before lifting the small boy up and placed him on his lap and wrapped his arms around the child so he wouldn’t get cold.
After a minute or two the child noticed that his older brother was holding something behind his back. ” … ” The child didn’t say a thing but kept staring at a certain direction which was more then enough for China to understand what the other was thinking. ” Hey Nihon, it has been a year since we met ” a pause before he added, ” Do you know what kind of day it is? ” The expression that the other was giving him China could easily conclude that the other had no idea and that he didn’t want to say anything which mind sound stupid. ” It’s your birthday, aru! ” The Japanese tilted his head a little, ” …Birthday? ” What in the world is a birthday? At this point he still had no idea about what a birthday exactly is and what people do on such days. ” What’s that? ” he eventually asked, hoping that it didn’t sound too stupid.
The Chinese raised his hand, ” It’s a day where we celebrate that someone is born, aru ” Listening carefully to the other’s explanation about these so called birthdays. By now he thought he had a good grasp on what birthdays actually are. ” Actually, I have something for you ” A brow was raised in response, ” Something for me? ” Carefully he watched the other’s movements before something was given to him.
The Chinese smiled brightly, ” Shēngrì kuàilè Nihon! ” as he handed over the plushie to his little brother. Yet the Japanese only blinked in response while looking at the plushie in his hands. ” … ” The silence was horrible for the Chinese, did he not like it? Voicing his thoughts out loud, hoping that the other did like it he has worked on it for so long aru! ” No… ” he said before the corner of his lips twitched into a small smile as he brought the plushie closer to him.
” I love it, arigatou, nii-san ”
