Day and night repeat endlessly, a cycle that is unavoidable. Although we wish to escape it, the seventh circle will repeat itself…as it always shall, until the end of time. These cycles had been nothing but peaceful calm for himself. So much so that the prince`s life had felt quite like a blur in the city. Partially for the sake of much of his life having been lost to the ether, his memories of the city completely wiped from his brain like a crisp, stainless mirror. The royal did not want to lose all of his memories once more. But the same could not be said for his dear companion.
❝So you have made your decision, Jack.❞ His smile, if one could call such a light curl of his lips, was a bit weary, but his tone was not one of mockery, nor was it a lie. He was hushed, as though his fragile, sing song voice could break like a fine piece of porcelain. ❝It feels me with such joy that you are truly happy.❞ Although his lover never lied to him, Tettere did not have a blind eye to the facts, the sheer way that Jack even needed to function. This was something he had to do, wasn`t it? Regardless of the prince.
Did he truly realize it?
Jack Vessalius was a curious man who worked in even more curious ways. Even if he wanted to do something, the needs of his ultimate goal would always, always outweigh his personal satisfaction. That's just how it was, it's how he trained himself to work. In a sense, this need to return home and finally achieve his goal of sinking a beloved world into a dark abyss could be seen as his own desire as well. Yet there was a far greater reason that outshined him -- that would outshine his very existence.
Leaning over did the noble take a gloved hand and brush fringe from the blue eyes of his beloved prince. He toyed with the ends of golden strands of hair, sighing to himself before he chose to answer. Tettere was right in thinking that Jack hadn't lied to him -- for all the time they had been together, he never really had. The Vessalius gave another sigh and pulled his hand back to cross arms.
❝I was never not truly happy with you, my dear.❞
It would be a grand lie for him to say otherwise.
❝You are someone who has been engraved into me. You lost your memories of me long ago, didn't you? Even if my memories will likewise be taken -- I doubt I will forget your presence, the influence you have had on me.❞
