We're back from Närcon 2017. Here are some first photos of our costumes, more will come in the following weeks! :)

Well, here comes a lil post about NärCon Summer 2017! It was a pretty decent convention and I had fun. I wouldn’t have called it the best con ever but neither would I call it the worst con ever! It was a lot of 50/50 moments for me. Some things were really awesome, and some were kind of ‘meeeh’. I know, I make it sound like I had a bad time but I assure you: I had fun, too! Tons of fun!

I shared a room at the convention with @salamancers, @velka-art, @saffronbunbaker, @bortbyting and pancake, who’s tumblr I am yet to know by heart (you can purchase private sleeping quarters, which is like, a classroom shared as a makeshift sleeping area for you and your friends, since the con is held at a university).

I tried good food, had fun photo shoots together with friends (although we’ve been going to cons together for a couple of years, this is the first con we’ve ever taken serious photo shoots of our cosplays together!), and best of all: I met a long lost convention buddy that I haven’t seen or heard from since like, 2012! I thought they had stopped going to cons altogether, but joke’s on me, seems as if they’re back and kicking! And second best of all: This year I got the pleasure to meet Ellen McLain and John Patrick Lowrie (I missed out 2014 when they were at the con)! It really was a magical moment. I even got a hug from Ellen and gave her a drawing I had made, and she signed another drawing I had made for me to keep (Sorry, there’s no pic of that r/n, might post it later though ;v;)!

Apart from that, I went to a few meet ups that I stayed at for varying lengths of time because partially some were kind of “meh” and some we just didn’t feel like staying for too long or didn’t feel like we had time.

The only thing I’m bummed about is that I didn’t find enough Rick and Morty-cosplayers or fans. Although some stayed to chat with me when I cosplayed Rick, there wasn’t really any real hangouts with them. Next year though! Next year, I’ll arrange a RaM-meetup myself!

I hope I might be able to go to NC Winter at some point, as well as smaller cons! I miss the feeling of conventions all year around while waiting for NCS. It’s really the only place where I feel sociable and accepted and get to hang out with my friends. Five days out of 365 feels very little, yanno?

I'm sitting on the train back home, so it's time to post the last pictures I took at Närcon! In the first two, you can see me as Ryou Bakura and @sketch-wolf as Yami Bakura with the Yami and Yugi from Friday's Yu-Gi-Oh! panel.

All the pictures were taken on Saturday, except for the last one, which I took right after the closing ceremony today (Sunday).

The con was a lot of fun! But we'll have to wait and see whether we decide to come back next year, or if we go to Galacon (like last year) instead, because they're on the same weekend.

Part ½ of my pictures from today (AKA Friday)!

The people in the first and second pictures were part of a Yu-Gi-Oh! in-character Q&A panel, which was amazing! It even had Bakura trying to ruin the panel at the end and try to duel Yami, which he had told the audience about before the others arrived!

You know what? It doesn't matter that this photos is pretty blurry and even if Takumi wanted to take a selfie with the Nohrians (especially Leo), it would turn out like this anyway even if he tried hard. • • I also realised, that I have always accidentally introduced myself as "the prince of Nohr" instead of "the prince of Hoshido" in all the panels I've been in😅😖 I just repeatedly telling myself to not say Nohr before my turn but in the end ,I fail.
