[ .Nightly Duties. ] The midnight hour ticked by all too soon rolling into the early morning. The dark skies sang their deepest howls amongst the trees. The leaves whistled with the rolling winds. All creatures were quiet, seizing sleep where sleep was due, all except the nocturnal babes. Jiyong sat in his favorite rocking chair, rocking back and forth with his 2 year old daughter in arms. There were nights she just couldn't quite sleep well and tonight was just one of those nights; the nights in which she only sought sleep in the embracing warmth of Jiyong's maternal arms. Thus there he was, singing gently to the fair babe, the Crook of his elbow bracing her, his upper arm her pillow. One hand gently patted her bottom as the other brushed long black locks from her face. He sighed in exhaust but smiled just the same. The long nights and early mornings often wore on his body but his spirit never faltered. He wouldnt trade this life for anything, he often thought to himself. He loved his children, and thought surely he loved his husband, even in his many absence. Jiyong continued to hum nightly lullaby's to his child, rocking them back and forth, his own eyes growing heavy. He knew he would soon fall asleep, though caution grew for the small child in his arms. He had to choose, attempt to lie the child down and risk waking her or fight off the drowse that rose to shake him and continue to care for the child until the witching hour had passed. He chose the latter and with great effort pressed himself awake for just another couple hour, just until Nari was sound to place down, even if he had to take her to his own bed.
