Nari quietly packed her things as the other female trainees chatted away, grabbing their bags and water bottles. She gave Miyeon a small smile as the other girl packed her bag as well, the girl sending a smile back before calling after the other girls, “Hey, wait up!”
The fifteen year old sighed as she watched the older girl run after her friends. She quickly wiped her frown off her face as she stood up straight, cracking her back in the process and groaned. That didn’t sound good, especially for a fifteen year old. But it sure did feel good.
“Hi.”
Nari gasped in shock and jumped up, hitting her head on the bench in front of her. “Ow!”
“I am so sorry!” The same voice said, her voice apologetic. “I really-- oh no, are you okay? Does it hurt?”
“Of course it does!” She huffed in pain, holding her forehead. “Agh, seriously?” She hoped she wasn’t bleeding.
“Let me see,” the voice was quiet as she spoke and Nari finally turned her gaze to the girl. The girl was pretty, but she hadn’t seen her around. Of course, she had just joined YG as well. “You’re not bleeding, but ... There might be a bruise.” Her face was apologetic, “I’m sorry, I didn’t think you’d get scared.”
“I wasn’t scared,” Nari frowned, reluctantly climbing up from the floor with the girl’s help. “Just .. I didn’t expect it.”
“Right, so scared,” the girl nodded, ignoring her glare. “I’m Jisoo, what’s your name?”
Nari sighed, “Park Nari. I’m sorry for being like that earlier--”
“It’s okay, I understand,” Jisoo smiled comfortingly. “You’re younger than me, right? Call me unnie.”
“Ah, okay,” Nari nodded slowly. “Unnie, why’d you come over here?”
“Well,” Jisoo looked hesitant before saying, “You recently joined YG, and I noticed that you don’t ...”
“Have many friends? Or any?” Nari’s eyebrows raised and Jisoo nodded. “Yeah, well ... I’m not the best at making friends. And I just also moved here from the US, so my family’s not here with me--”
“Wait, your family isn’t here?” Jisoo’s eyebrows raised in disbelief. “Seriously? You’re like, what, fourteen?”
“Fifteen,” Nari sighed. “I just turned fifteen in December. And yes, my parents are back in the US.”
“So, you’re all by yourself?” Jisoo’s frown seemed to be permanent at her news.
“Yes, unnie,” she nodded again.
“I can’t believe ...” Jisoo shook her head and glanced over at the clock in the practice room. “It’s almost six, we should go get something to eat.”
“We?” Nari felt shock overcome her. “What do you mean we?”
“I mean as in you and I,” Jisoo smiled, grabbing her bag for her. She held out her hand, “Come on, as your unnie and new friend, I demand we eat dinner together.”
Nari stared at the older girl’s hand in shock, lips parted. “Are you sure?” Her voice grew smaller.
