Nari Shakti Puraskar presented on the International Women's Day
The occasion of International Women’s Day is celebrated worldwide to appreciate the efforts and sacrifice of women. The greatness of women is recognised and people appreciate them. Women have proved themselves in almost every field of life. The diversity achieved by them is almost impossible for any other person to achieve. The mindset of the society is such to discriminate between men and women and to criticise and blame women for each and every mishappening. Many required changes have happened in the society but in India still, some orthodox mentality people need to change.
Trying to motivate a little, The President of India, Shri Ram Nath Kovind, presented the Nari Shakti Puraskar. He announced its presentation at a function held at Rashtrapati Bhavan on 8 March 2018. The President spoke on the occasion saying that the discrimination between men and women in a mindset of our society and poses a barrier for the composite development of our country. It necessarily needs to be removed for the potential development of our nation. Everyone in this society is responsible for changing such mindsets of people. The voices of the daughters must be heard and they must be provided with all possible opportunities to make the most of their lives. The old customs and traditions prevailing in our society since ancient times hinder in the process of providing equality and equal rights to the daughters of the nation.
The President mentioned that awareness among the people of the society and education of the mass would prove to be effective for overcoming the gender inequality. Education possesses the power and understanding to eliminate the distinctions between people in society. The International Women’s Day is celebrated throughout the world every year on 8th March. This day is celebrated to honour the movement of women’s rights. Celebrating the bravery and as a mark of honour, this day proves to be special for all those selfless women sacrificing their own lives spending it living for the others. Read the full article
