AU I'm working on, inspired by the song Play with Fire. Princess Allura is taken by Prince Lotor after he sword to her father to protect her. He helped her adapt to galra customs, with the help of his generals, and she changes her look to seem like a half galran half Alteans. She and his generals are the only ones that know she is the Alteans Princess.

Of course there are still a few things that need to be worked out.

Small facts about this AU

She only shifts to her original look around Lotor and occasionally the generals

She always keeps her crown with her in her room

She also keeps her earnings with her crown

She trusts Lotor the most

The generals are like her sisters

When all of Lotor's generals betrayed him, she had to be left behind as well because they knew she was loyal to him and him alone

You bet both were taken hostage by voltron

They struggled to keep Allura and Lotor in different cells

She changed her name to Aluxa

Her weapons is the same. It's still an electric whip

She bakes goods for the generals

Ezor is convinced that Lotor and Allura are dating

Honestly even though it seems like Voltron has taken a step in the wrong direction, and don't get me wrong I do feel as if its lacking in many areas such as the lack of character development, Keith leaving because he feels inadequate for team voltron and believes his abilities are better suited with the blades, coran getting more lines than lance (still love you gorgeous man) but in a way that doesn't develop the plot what so ever, lance being reduced as nothing but moral support, hunk playing the fool!! (that seriously upset me in all honesty) and nothing on the shiro mystery regarding episode 5 season 3, lotor betraying nariti and then the others just throwing away there supposed loyalty to him (though for a good cause, I would have done the same, just saying) and what's with zarkon, what exactly did he bring to the season after being "brought back for the brink of death" other than he thinks his son is a disappointment and now wants him dead.

Though it has these factors it also has some redeeming factors such as Alluras development, she's starting to show her age more hinting that she's become more comfortable with the team and being a strong prominent paladin of voltron, pidge finally finding matt and us seeing the Holt siblings in action at long last and having a chance to be the excited little sister that want to show off to a brother she admirers and adores once again, matt rekindling with his little sister whom I'm sure he thought would never be able to see again and actually having some what of a part in the fight against the empire (more than intersecting galra messages), haggar being the most prominent villain we've seen and staying consistent through out the series and pretty much now being the largest threat to voltron and the coalition regardless of her position. the grounds in which they've all made in the war against the galra empire

Though the season seems more contradictory than flattery there's room for more in the next season, for the creators to delve upon and improve. there's so much more we have yet to see with voltron, the coalition, bom, lotor and his "generals" even haggar herself, they have so much to fill in for us and though season 4 may have been a slight let down it still had its moment where it reminded us as to why exactly we started watching and why we are still watching, just because something seems bad at first we shouldn't rule it out till its had its moment to redeem itself

All I'm saying is its still got time to pick itself up off the ground and be better than it was before and that why we should wait and see what it has in stall for us
