Doyle Street, Narrabri, New South Wales.

2022: Sawn Rocks, Mount Kaputar National Park. As the Australasian plate moved north during the Tertiary, there were continuous volcanic complexes developed down through QLD, NSW and Victoria, getting younger as you went south. Mt Kaputar is a former shield volcano (18 Ma) that formed part of the Nandewar Range.

Something wondrous

These photos were taken back in April 2021 at Narrabri. They are a composite of several stacked photographs over a 2 hour period. In the originals, the dish moved slightly during that period, so the guidestar laser was a little fuzzy. Because the noise content was high, I revisited them with a new noise reducing application (ON1 RAW nonoise). That app has somehow seperated the light from the dish into reds and greens and highlighted areas of the milky way. More experiments to follow.
