9.21.20 Lunchtime drawing: The poet Edna St. Vincent Millay lived here in Manhattan’s narrowest house, only 9 ½ feet wide, at 75 ½ Bedford Street in the West Village. I’ve sketched it a number of times over the course of the 7 years of this drawing a day project, but I think I this is the first time using watercolor.

It always seems to rain when I draw Edna St. Vincent Millay’s house at 75 1/2 Bedford Street in the West Village (the narrowest residence in Manhattan!) She wrote the line, “my candle burns at both ends,” and win the Pulitzer Prize for Poetry in 1923.
