Im feeling nervous because tonight will be the episode for ch 693. I’m afraid Sasuke will break my heart as he did Sakura’s in that horrendous genjutsu of his. I hope it will! That way I can say that I’m satisfied with the animation. I’m really looking forward to it!

I’m sorry- I just- I know it’s super late, but considering what happened with the Bleach ending I have to get this out. 

Do you know why I’m so angry that SasuSaku made endgame canon? Do you know why it really pisses me off? It’s not just because I don’t ship it- I didn’t ship IchiHime and I was just confused when they made canon. No- SasuSaku makes me actually mad. 

And here’s why. 

In fact, here, let me add another translation.

Images not loading? Don’t worry, I’ll fill you in. That is Uchiha fucking Sasuke himself, in chapter 693, canonically stating that there is no reason that he should love Sakura, or she him. 

Now he’s absolutely right of course, but that’s a whole other story and not the point of this post. The point is, this dialogue in the manga confirmed what most rational fans realized as the story of Naruto progressed. Sasuke and Sakura have no reason to be together. It makes no logical sense, considering the majority of their interactions- especially in Shippuden. 

The manga explicitly pointed this out- and then said ‘but fuck you, it’s happening anyway’. And THAT’S why I’m angry. What should’ve been the confirmation that there was no way the two of them would happen, ended up being a slap in the face.

What do you think of SasuSaku being canon?That shocked me after chapter 693

I will preface this by saying that I’ve been a fan of SasuSaku for a long time, but I have had problems with this pair.The emotional intent of Sakura towards Sasuke are fairly well documented.  She developed a crush on him, he was instrumental in saving her life on a couple of occasions, she in turn protected him and was able to prevent him from killing Zaku… we all know what happens in the manga, so on and so forth.  Team 7 has some pretty deep bonds.Sakura has her own ambitions.  She becomes a medic under the tutelage of Tsunade, she’s a capable fighter and kunoichi (as she was in part I - she was actually ahead of the boys at the start, and even in the end she probably helped more in the war than anybody else in saving both Naruto and Nagato.- So here we have one issue that’s a rub for a lot of people.  ”Housewife Sakura”.1. We don’t know the logistics of the new world Naruto is building in Chapter 700.  What role does chakra play, how is ninjutsu being used, etc.  It is safe to assume that Sakura’s medical knowledge is still valuable though.2. Using the real world as a parallel, there are a lot of funky scheduling techniques that Hospitals use for their staff.  One in particular is “7 on, 7 off” where a Doctor or nurse will work for 7 days in a row, then have 7 days off.  So to see Sakura at home instead of at a hospital could easily be explained with something like this.3. That being said, there’s only so much you can do with a page or two in a manga.  You can’t tell the whole story of an entire family’s routine and personality in that few panels.Now then.  My biggest, and most long-standing, problem with SasuSaku has always been Sasuke.  The kid is an emotional juvenile delinquent.  Granted he had a ton of early life trauma, that’s going to mess you up.  But he had no time to develop actual human emotions because he was “Mr. Avenger”, and when he was starting to grow beyond that (with his Team 7 connections) he left to go live in a cave for 3 years.Sasuke’s problem in a post-699 world, he’s a man with no purpose.  He’s an important man, people know him, but he doesn’t know himself.  I actually think that his choice to travel, see the world, perhaps see how normal people live, could do him a lot of good.Now, to address your point regarding Chapter 693.  I have so many issues with the final 50 chapters of Naruto it’s not even funny.  Like how it would take Naruto and Sasuke 2 days to even reach the Valley of End from where they were, but that’s not what we’re talking about.  Sasuke bring up the point about how he sees no reason why somebody would love him - and he’s right (owing to his lack of personality and humanity).- That is something Sasuke needed to grow out of.- However, the genjutsu and Sasuke’s belittling of Sakura, while it seems awful to us, doesn’t change Sakura’s feelings.  When you love somebody, you don’t give up on them.  Even when they lash out at you.I have my issues with the way SasuSaku became canon, but I can accept it.  Sakura has always been there to support him, even the times when he’s been crazy.  And really, that’s the kind of person Sasuke needs, someone he knows will always be there for him (because he’s lost everything else that mattered in his life).It works on a character level, but the way Kishimoto wrote it was pretty bad.  That’s my take on SasuSaku.

After Sakura and Sasuke got together, the young Uchiha was never at ease when she wasn't around. He didn't tolerate very well to be kept apart from her for longer than few hours days.
