thoughts on claudia's age switch in the amc show?

im way more forgiving of this because it was done well and also i dont think kids should have jobs. it's definitely different, mainly because show claudia did fully form as a person before having her life taken from her (as opposed to book claudia -- not that she wasnt a person but she was only five with no memories of her former life) which i think gives show claudia more of a nuanced spectrum of human emotion that little kids dont really experience. 14 is pretty awful age to be stuck at though.....

the furthest i got in tvc was starting blood and gold but i lowkey only read like 2 chapters. are any of the later books worth reading? and do i need to read blood and gold 😭😭

i had to think about this one to be honest. so definitely no on b&g, i myself have only ever skimmed it and there really aren’t any plot points you’ll be missing for the remainder of the series if you skip it.

as for the PL books ummmmm 😅 no and yes? they aren’t good, i have to establish that. there are some really cute loustat moments in them (even an engagement scene) if you’re interested in that though! louis is back, unfortunately not in the way one would want (which licncourt talks more about that here in her vc navigational), and iirc there’s a devil’s minion epilogue!

so there is good stuff in there, you kind of just have to dig for it. which is how i feel about most of the 90s-2000s books anyway to be honest.

keeps the score by zisurru - (prince lestat era) this oneeeeeeee sigh... so good... lestat copes with ptsd from his attack by magnus (lilly writes lestat so well, probably my favorite lestat author)

from underneath the door by mothfish - (interview era) swampstat ficcccc!!! and a playlist that goes with it, this is one of the best fics i've read in a while! super dreamy and sad and good (i would absolutely recommend anything by moth though!)

this is where they sleep by monsterinthecosmos - (interview era) this is the swampstat/antoine fic I was talking about the other day! single handedly made me sexually attracted to swampstat. awesome

fils à maman by translouisdpdl - (auvergne lestat) i would be remiss to not include one fic where lestat is weird about his mother. he is SUCH a fucked up little freak.......and my treasure <3

fetus in fetu (sinnerman) by licncourt - (pre-iwtv, pointe du lac era) some of flora's best work. really beautiful in depth look at louis' life before (and a little bit after) lestat. ft his very sweet relationship with unnamed sister, his strange (to say the least) relationship with paul, boy crazy baby louis and pillow humping among other things. some really fantastic l&l fights here too

begin again by licncourt - (post-qotd, fix-it for rest of the series) i think everyone who likes the books has read this because its just so wonderful, but if you haven't give it a read! loustat roadtrip, some rlly good fights, they rent a porno and just hang out and watch it together in silence in a hotel room. so fire. also daniel/louis friendship 5ever (and some cute one-shots from the BA extended universe! cough cough in afterparty they have lesbian sex)

one night only by licncourt - (post-tvl epilogue) what if lestat's music did NOT wake up akasha and he went on tour and brought his ex-husband and his transmasc mom was there too... i love this one, its not completed either but the first chapter alone.. my brain melted into a little puddle on the floor. also in the second or third chapter there's coke-induced erectile dysfunction sex and its fantastic. rep my city #vegas too

wound man by chapel_perilous - (pre-tvl paris, auvergne) fic so good i had to add a category just for this aughhh. i mean ridiculously good and just perfectly captures nicki's voice. ill be rereading this over and over for one hundred years. first couple chapters are pre-lestat nicki (criminally underexplored topic) last chapter is nicki/lestat and full of BUGS!
