I'm in a bite of a writers block with Pup but in the mean time here is a small piece I wrote a while back about Nat but never posted it.

“Do we know if she had family?”
Fury looked over files and photos of Agent Romanoff. He looked down looking over the letter. Hating to have to send it. He puts her badge with it and seals it in an envelope. Not taking his eye off of the pictures he handed the letter over to Maria. “There is a car waiting for you with the gsp already set up where to go. Don’t let anyone know where you're going.”, he says. Maria just nods and makes her way to the car. A couple hours later she pulled up to a little cottage deep into the woods. Maria gulped as she got out of the car and looked down at the letter. This was the last person she ever thought she would ever have to do this to. Taking a deep breath she knocks on the door to the house. A faint smile made its way on her face at the sounds of feet running around and the sounds of little giggles. But it shortly falls looking down at that letter. Maria’s head snaps up as the door opens. “Maria! Hi! What are you doing here?”, Y/n stands there smiling as their catch her breath. Maria looks at her trying to say something , anything. “I’m so sorry , y/n.”, Maria says looking up at her as she hands them the letter. Y/n’s face fell seeing it. They knew what it was , but prayed that they were wrong. “No. Please tell me this is a joke! That’s not what I think it is! Please!”, Y/n begged taking the letter. The look in Maria’s eyes proved what they feared was true. “I’m so sorry.”, Maria says before heading back to the car. Not able to stand the sight and see them broken. Y/n closes the door and leans against it , staring at the letter. Already feeling the tears rising up in her eyes. They slowly opened it. Choking out a sob as they sees Natashia’s badge for SHIELD. The first letter telling them the unfortunate fact that Nat , their Nat , died on duty. In the upcoming battle against thano’s. The next letter was what really made the tears come out even more. A letter Nat wrote to them.

This is the hardest thing I have ever done. I refused to write one before. Knowing I would always come back to you and our little one. But as we prepare for the upcoming war , I have a bad feeling and feel that I should finally write this. I hope to just tear it up after the war. But I can't help the feeling knowing something bad is coming and is going to happen. In that case I knew I needed to tell you some last things. Tell you I love you. I love you and Bella so so much. I will watch over you two , protecting you two. Please don’t let that little girl forget her Mama and what she did. That everything she did was for her to make the world better for her and her ( Partner name). For you my dear , please don’t forget that I loved you and you are the true hero. You gave me things I never thought I would have. You gave me a family. You helped me through my trauma. Helped when I was fighting trying to figure out who I really was. You stayed with me and loved me through everything. When I turned my back on Bucky, you made me realize how wrong I was and remember everything the three of us went through in the red room. And I can’t thank you enough. I love you so much. And I know I promised to come home and I broke that promise and I’m so sorry. Never forget that:

The letter becomes blurry as tears fill her vision. Thinking over the years. Their time together. The red room, where they meet. Pictures and memories flow through their head. When nat escaped and got away. When Y/n was sent to find her. But Nat caught them and helped them break free from everything. Nat being their saving grace. Who helped them and slowly made them falling in love. The late night dates. Sneaking around. As they were both worried about Hydra getting wind of Y/n. Pulse with Nat now working with Shield and the upcoming group the avengers. Nat wanted to keep Y/n safe and hidden. More and more tears fall down Y/n’s face as they think over everything they have been through. Their wedding. Which was a courthouse wedding consisting of only Client and Lauran. The only people who knew of Y/n. Mainly cause Y/n and Lauren hung out a lot due to both of their partners being away so often. The best memory being the day their little bundle of joy came to them. Y/n remembers it viable. Mainly because Nat was scared to hold her. Scared to hurt her. But with Y/n’s help she got the hang of it and is - or was a wonderful mom. “(Mommy/Daddy/Another Name)?”, A small voice said. Y/n looked up to see Bella stand not far from them. Their bunny stuffy dangling from her grip next to her. Noticing their tears, Bella came running to them hugging them. “What’s wrong, ( )?”. Y/n couldn’t say anything as they put the letter and things to the side , hugging their daughter close to them. Bella looked at the badge her ( ) put down. Noticing her Mama’s face on it. “( ) when’s Mama coming home?”.
I'm sorry... I hope this is okay. When I normally write my stories I'm writing like it's me , mainly because these come from dreams and day dreaming. But I'm really trying to make them inclusive. Please don't be afraid to ask for more Neutral Gender or male reader or call me out on them. -MM
