HELP. PLEASE.

I really want to fix my NAT type on my wireless internet so I can play xbox with a friend. My NAT is currently strict while his is open. I have a Linksys WRT310N router. I’ve even tried portforwarding following a tutorial and yeahhh it didn’t work! So if anyone could help me IT WOULD BE A CHRISTMAS MIRACLE.
