I have an absolutely ridiculous and absolutely majestic purple/magenta felt hat - the wide brim is covered in wispy black-and-purple feathers that shimmy like long grass whenever you move your head - that I bought while drunk in the middle of the day in a thrift store in Flannery O’Connor’s hometown in Georgia.
